Being of Chinese decent myself I chose to visit the centre in particular for the grandkids to learn about their heritage. The staff was super nice in helping explain the museum and stories as well as they were also curious about some knowledge of my own. It's definitely worth a visit to learn about the struggles and contributions the Chinese immigrants experienced and made to BC. Make sure you visit and browse in the shop.

Beautiful exhibits and displays. So many stories of those who shaped Vancouver's Chinatown in the past and present. Great job!

I really enjoyed my visit to the Chinatown Storytelling Centre! The exhibits are well done, and it did a great job telling the story of Chinese people in Vancouver, and Canada as a whole. This is a good educational visit for all ages, and not just for Asians, but Canadians in general. It's important to know the story of Canada, its peoples, and the rights and freedoms fought for.

Staff are friendly and the exhibits can be experienced touchless in consideration of COVID-19. The centre was a bit smaller than I expected but nonetheless an educational experience that sincerely tells the stories of Chinese communities in Canada, from the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway to the state of present-day Chinatown in Vancouver. The space is good for families and there is an interactive photo booth. The souvenir shop has many cute products including plushies, stationary, t-shirts and books. Definitely worth checking out!

Had a lovely visit here! Everything was very well thought out and executed. The stories were easy to follow along with as you walked through the exhibit, and were provided in both English and Chinese. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the set design, and how to help the overall flow of the story of Chinese Canadians. Definitely recommend visiting at least once, if not more!

This is probably the best place in Chinatown to experience and understand the history of Chinese in Vancouver. Full of amazing displays and interactive exhibits that detail the hardships and struggles that Chinese immigrants faced. A very sobering and poignant history of our past that we should not be proud of.

I am overjoyed to see this space in Chinatown. I always wished something like this existed in the Cultural Centre and now it's here at another section of Pender St! The stories told here built the foundation for the prosperity experienced by all the Chinese people who continue to live in Greater Vancouver and more broadly Canada as a whole. I would recommend it to locals and tourists alike. It's a cozy space (ie you won't get lost) but there's a lot packed into their displays and digital terminals. I did not get a chance to try the augmented reality portions but was extremely satisfied with my visit!
