I have relied on Chinatown optical for over 10 years as my go-to source for everything optical. I have been buying sunglasses at the very best prices and with great service and have now - as my vision declined - gotten my first pairs of reading glasses. The staff is wonderful and service unparalleled. Highly recommend!

A++ Very helpful staff even during covid. I was worried about visiting with covid but the store was kept clean and the staff are great. They are going above and beyond throughout these times even with limited staff!

I’ve been going here for years. I bought a few frames from them and would get the lenses updated whenever my prescription changed. This last experience has left such a sour taste in my mouth that I feel compelled to leave a review. I sent in 2 glasses to get the lenses updated. The 2 frames are pretty similar and the prescriptions are the exact same yet one pair of lenses are so much thicker than the other. So I expressed my dissatisfaction and they said they’ll switch them out for thinner lens for an extra charge of $90. Keep in mind I already paid $180 per glasses. But I’d rather pay again and be able to wear the glasses in public without embarrassment then trash them completely. Imagine my surprise when I receive the new lenses and they’re pretty much like the original thick ones! I sent them another email. Was ignored for 2 weeks so I sent a follow up. They finally called me back and offered to switch back the lenses but would only give me a $90 credit - why a credit and not a refund? Their answer: because it’s year end so the books are closed. But I emailed in December and was ignored until now, so again I have to pay because of their action? Also how does that make any sense? How are other stores able to refund in the new year? In fact stores have an extended return policy during this time of the year due to the holidays. Please take some accounting classes before you start spewing nonsense. My biggest frustration is that they could’ve discussed this with me before hand. They could’ve said “oh your prescription is higher so the lenses will be much thicker. If you pay extra, the lenses will be slightly thinner but not by much. What would you like to do?” When I asked why I wasn’t given a consultation before this whole fiasco happened, she replied: oh idk who helped you. Well the person who helped me is in the email trail, so again, not a good answer. I will never go back here. The prices are decent but it's not worth the hassle. I'd rather pay more elsewhere and be satisfied with the end product.

This is the only optical store my family and I have been going to for years. Lots of selection and very helpful staff. They are extremely organized, clean and take covid precautions very seriously. Kimmi is the best!- Very knowledgeable, friendly, and always goes above and beyond! Always a great experience!

Great place and would definitely recommend! I went in to get some prescription and blue light glasses and tried on many pairs. I wasn’t certain about the colours of the ones they had in store so they tried their best to accommodate me by ordering in another frame in different colours for me to compare with. It was quick and I got to try them the week after. I was very impressed by this place given these difficult times. I’m glad they abide by covid rules and clean things very well. The service was impeccable and they always try to provide top notch assistance and advice! Prices were also reasonable and styles were up to date! I will definitely keep coming back!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL place to find new glasses/sunglasses and contacts. GREAT & CONVENIENT location .The owners and opticians are all super nice. When they're not slammed, they're really patient and take their time with you, so GO DURING NON-PEAK HOURS! Affordable, super high-quality, brand names and well made frames. Would come back here again for my next pair!
