About Central Veterinary Clinic
Central Veterinary Clinic was established in Ponoka, Alberta as a solo veterinary practice in 1988 by Dr. Bill Frischke and has since grown into a busy 6 doctor veterinary practice with as large 24 person support staff. Our mission remains the same, to provide high quality, progressive veterinary care with an emphasis on customer service and satisfaction in a friendly, respectful, and fun working environment.
In 2019 we expanded our Clinic into Bashaw, Alberta. Serving Central Alberta has been an honour and we are excited to continue to grow and offer veterinary services to more areas in Alberta.

The vets are so knowledgeable, professional and quick to call back.
My horses are always well
taken care off.. which helps my stress level a ton during emergency moments.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great experience here with Dr. Jesse. He went above and beyond and his customer service, compassion and genuine concern for my dog was impeccable. The clinic itself is absolutely beautiful with lots of room unlike most cramped waiting rooms. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been with Central since moving back to the area over 10 years ago, and while I’m now rarely in Central Alberta I always come back to bring my dogs in for their vet needs. The service, care, and attention to detail is worth a trip back. Both dogs healthy and happy into their senior years, in no small part due to Central.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m from Calgary. I called 21 vet clinics in the city in a day, and called 7 today. Not a single place in the city INCLUDING emergency clinics could take in my beautiful African grey! She was in life threatening condition. Today we were luckily able to get him in for an appointment 2 hours away, at this location. Knowing we were driving 2 hours, they were very accommodating, and even stayed an hour after close to help my bird! We are on a treatment plan and she is now on medications. If I had left her for even another day, she probably wouldn’t be here anymore! I am so thankful for you guys ! Thank you for helping me save my baby! Sweet Pea is my life! I can’t lose her! After my girl gets better, and is her normal bubbly self again, I will absolutely be back! Thank you Dr. Hook for looking after my girl ! I 110% recommend this clinic to anyone! This is the place to go if your pet needs a caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable place to bring your family member!! You will not regret it! Not only this, but I was expecting their prices to be like Calgary vets, ridiculous! But I am very impressed at the amount of work we got done for her, and how much we paid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The love of my life swallowed a rubber ball. Central got me in within an hour and surgery was done within a few hours. They provided me with a quote and when I paid the amount was actually under the quote, which is rare as past experiences have demonstrated you are more likely to be overcharged. They were honest, professional, and courteous. My boy will only be going to this veterinary service. Thanks again Central!
