★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very pleasant lady in charge was such a great lady. Definitely stay there again. Wasn't a five star by appearance but very clean and very quaint and like I said lady in charge very nice to deal with.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Microwave broke and nearly caught fire over a cup of tea, which scared all the cockroaches that lived under it. Bed was comfortable, but I had a hard time sleeping due to being afraid of roaches in my bed and the constant traffic outside. Heater isn't on during sunny days even in the winter and the manager is a drunk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was just there about a week ago. As we asked to book a room the front desk lady asked us if we had bed bugs lol we said "no, that's what we were worried about with coming here." She then about 3x thought the evening reassured us there were no bugs in the motel.
So about 2am in the morning I wake up to go to the bathroom and then on the light and seen something quirky crawl across the floor. I screamed and boyfriend woke up and killed it. Then I look over and another one on the wall by the picture, he kills that one. So rest of the night we layer there with the lights on and even before we seen the creepy crawlers I stayed to sleep in my jacket and jeans and shoes. Then morning comes and another one crawled out from between the mattress. That was enough of that. Totally grossed out and disgusted we go to show the front desk lady the dead ones and she freaks out on us. Calling us names and swearing. We weren't even asking for our money back right off the boot and lost it. Extremely unprofessional and ignorant! And I didn't know it at the time but later on found out those were filthy cockroaches. Burn that place to the ground!!!

was planing on leaving a honest review. but most honest people have beat me to it. my short story . horrible visit.
I watched my boyfriend visit his mother(whom is staying at the motel) manger was very rude and drunk he confronted her about her drunken ness while being a empoylee of this overrated zero star motel, her response :“no, you don’t know me!, maybe”. this is not a professional way to manage an establishment!. manger get over yourself & cheer up.
tent city is across the street some might say you may have a better stay there ?
try a vacay. clients avoid at all cost.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is an old place. Our room was clean but the carpet looked pretty stained. Didn't see / smell the same things as others did. If I was traveling with a sensitive picky person I would have probably heard a bunch of complaints. Overall it wasn't too bad for about $70 for 2 bed 2 people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little cozy motel nice NEW MANAGMENT that care about the guests and the property. We will definitely recommend this motel as they try hard to go over and above all other motels we have stayed at in Nanaimo. If you are looking for a clean comfy safe and clean motel this is the go to!! Great service Castaway keep up the hard work as it shows.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a friend who stayed here for a few months and I would go and visit him now and then and the front desk girl for to know and recognize me...and would come out and tell me if he was home or when he would be back...which in my mind was very muchly appreciated...and it got to the point that I would just phone and she would answer and tell me if he was home or not...Also the prices are very reasonable for a nightly or weekly stay.
And the place is always kept very tidy...so keep up the great work you're awesome...Cheers

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here and I honestly could not believe the hostility the woman who owns and operates this hotel has for the people that take residence across the way . Absolutley unbelievable considering half of the people renting monthly are in the same boat as the people who the presence across the way ....sad I watched her assault one of the females who came across the street just for being on the sidewalk..apparently that's illegal as well I dont even want to admit I'm renting a room here unfortunately I am though hands downed hotel I've ever resided in .....and I've stayed on east hastings lol
