I really cant say anything good about this place, other than that its clean and in a convenient location.... the cons: 1. poor construction quality. Its a new build and already falling apart. My unit needed extensive work after i moved in. Its really looks like it was put together in a rush, not at all on the same level of "luxury" that I've seen in other comparable builds. 2. Stuff doesnt work. Inside my unit and outside. Its new and the elevators are malfunctioning - tv doesnt work, fob scanner doesnt work etc. tv in the gym doesnt work. Garbage is broken atleast twice a week. Staircase key doesnt work. Etc etc 3. Its still not finished! As far as i can tell from online publications, it was suppose to be done in Dec 2016. Its almost august (8 months later), the entrance looks awful with broken unfinished brickwork, electrical wires hanging down. The amenities are also not done, including the pool, outdoor lounge, bbq area, indoor common area, and the reflecting pond outside which is currently used as a garbage dump the casa 3 build next door . I was promised all these amenities by my landlord and they dont exist at the moment. Ill be asking for a rent adjustment, its not fair to bate someone in with these grand promises and not deliver. And i can also confirm the other review about the management bieng rude. All this combined with insane rent im paying really led to the 1 star rating.

Very poor management. The concierge person threatened me verbally for two times. He threatened me that he will reject and resend my package back if I don't go down and get it in 5 minutes. What if I wasn't at home?Β Later, he threatened me again when I was picking up my package. I said, "you ask me to come down". Unbelievably, he threatened me again saying that "don't you ever talk to me like that again, ever in your life". He threatened me that he will reject all my packages. This is totally unreasonable and unacceptable.

Probably one of the worst places in Toronto I have ever lived... The building is cheaply made and the entrance is very ugly. The building claims it is not pet-friendly (which is illegal in Toronto) and they have a rule that your service dog is only allowed through the back door of the building which only has stairs. Building management is very rude and unaccommodating, and you have to pay to book any of the services: $50 to use the moving elevator, $50/hour to use the dining room, $3/hour to use the pool room. Definitely not a friendly or welcoming place to live. Check out CASA I or Chaz Yorkville instead.

Stunning building. By far the worst door policy in all of downtown. You buzz in and must wait for the security guard to unlock the elevator even though the tenant buzzes you in. Depending on the security guard this could take up to 10 minutes. Not one other building does this occur in. X, X2, Couture, Casa 1 all treat guests with more respect. Security is important. This is poorly run and executed.

Very well managed building. The gentlemen that manage the concierge desk are very courteous and most helpful. They think 'outside the box' which is something that I rarely see. Our special gratitude goes to Mohammed for helping us with the replacement of a bathroom vanity for which coordinating delivery times with the booking of the elevator was a logistical nightmare as it had to be delivered to our unit at Yonge and Bloor all the way from Brampton!

I have been living there over 1.5 year and I can’t stay at the front door for too long or else the concierge would ask me who I am and trying to kick me out. I guess it’s my job to allow myself to be recognizable to the concierge.

1 or 2 out of the 4 elevators is ALWAYS under maintenance. Sometimes only one would be working. The front door was leaking and no one can access it for weeks. There are also other building that is under construction around it which makes it super noisy during the day. It’s hard to have a peaceful morning.

There's a good and a bad side on living here. The good side is that it is very close to a central subway station. So moving all over the town is easy. With that small thing out of the way let's go to how it is to live there, as a tenant, of the 42 Charles... Had one of the worst experiences not only as a tenant but also as a human being. From the moment you step in you can notice something is very amiss. It may be the construction still underway. It may be the way that security looks at you in what can only be defined as preemptive anger.... It may be that some amenities require you to cough up 50 bucks (non refundable). It comes os be the way that people line up because three out of the four elevators are always broken. And management couldn't care less about making the last one work within regulated capacity standards... But of all the things possible is the receptionist. Most are okay, but one of them you should be careful, a very aggressive old character that will make you wonder if it's even worth to wish people a good morning. He'll make sure to let you know that he ain't having a good time.
