Carriage House Hotel & Conference Centre

I first want to start off and say I’ve loved staying at the carriage house previously. It was my go to place to stay in Calgary but after today and the poor level of professional and customer service I will not be returning for any future stays. Nor will I be recommending it to any of my peers. Its been about -30C for most of my stay. I ran into some trouble when my car would not start up. Go figure. I asked Linda at the front desk if they had any extension cords available as I saw there were electrical outlets in the parking lot. Without asking anyone to confirm if they had any cords she said no and dismissed me. I asked her politely if she could check and the amount of attitude I got in return was unwarranted and unnecessary. She told me I could walk to the store in -30C weather and buy one instead of just checking quickly for me. She confused me for being rude but quite frankly I was frustrated with the level of service that was being provided. She carelessly picked up the phone to call maintenance and told me directly “ you don’t need to be so rude”. I was quite upset with the comment and just left to return back to my room. After a little bit, I returned back to the front desk and asked Linda if maintenance had any. Of course the answer was no. One of her coworkers, Jo I believe overheard our conversation and asked me what was the issue. I explained to her my situation with my car not starting and all I needed was a extension cord or perhaps a boost. I told Jo about how I was quite upset with Linda calling me rude and then Linda proceeded to interrupt and call me rude again in front of fellow staff members and Customers. Which is completely inappropriate and frankly unacceptable. Jo, promptly took care of the issue and in no time got maintenance to come help me with my car and give it a boost. Problem solved, so thank you Jo! However, this does not excuse the dirt poor customer service I received from Linda. I’ve been working in customer service for over 10 years and have never met someone so rude, unprofessional, ill-mannered, and discourteous in my life. Linda’s training has failed her immensely, I’d hope management at the hotel Investigates this incident further and reviews proper training and customer service to Linda who desperately needs it and be reprimanded for her actions.

The room temperature was low and did not seem to warm up When the thermostat was adjusted. Other then that the room was very clean and the beds are comfortable. Adequately stocked bathroom. A very good complimentary breakfast buffet.

I didn't stay at the hotel but I wish I did. I was traveling from Toronto into Calgary and came here for mother's Day brunch. If you have any special event this is definitely a place I would check into. If you're doing a mother's Day for next year or this in your radar. It was well worth it and it was very well organized

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the service was fantastic, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of fresh food to choose from. The only thing that would have made our stay better, is if the hot tub was not out of order.

We stayed here for a night and the heated pool was superb! I and my kids enjoyed swimming on a freezing day -32 degrees but doesn’t feel like it. Moreover, I loved the zero chlorine smell since it is an open space. Free breakfast buffet for 2 adults and kids eat free too is more than a treat! Nothing more you can ask for. Staff are very warm and friendly. Looking forward for my next booking here.

This gem of a hotel is locally owned and operated. Been a staple in the community for years. You'll want to try the brunch buffet as well, there are good options to please most people. Room was clean, bed was comfy modern with good views of the city and mountains in the background on the higher floors. Nice and quiet. Family friendly.

I've stayed here every week for work for the past few months and the service is exceptional! The front desk staff are very welcoming and you can tell they're smiling even with masks on. Always a breeze checking in. The servers at the restaurant are great, Sandy is my server 90% of the time and always gives exceptional service. The rooms are nice and modern. No complaints at all

Great hotel. It was very clean. Staff were always super friendly. The bed was insanely comfy. The complimentary breakfast buffet was insanely delicious with a variety of things to choose from. Wish we had more time so we could use the pool and hot tub. Only downside was that our king room was gorgeous and modern, but when I visited the rest of the bridal party on the third and fourth floors the rooms were quite dated, bathrooms were tiny with only a pedestal sink, and you could hear EVERYTHING in the adjoining rooms so they never got a good sleep. Our king room appeared to have some soundproofing, so if you’re looking for a good nights sleep, spend the extra money for a king room. Our view was also incredible with the mountains in the distance
