Capilano Registry

The registry staffs are good and polite, the environment is nice and respectful, however, I had a very bad experience here with my road test. (I should say that I passed the test easily, once I changed the registry.) I got my road tests at this registry 3 times, the first and third ones were with a woman, the second time was with a man, I don't know their names. The man was polite and friendly and mentioned some helpful details about the driving, however the woman was so rude and mean and unreasonable. (Her number is 11411.) The first time I got my test with her, in a left turn, she yelled at me for what she called as an unsafe action and she terminated the test. She also said that I am too slow on my right turns. She had the belief that I need more practice before taking the road test again, which after 10 years of driving in my own country it was ridiculous. The second time, I did my exam with a man. I got some negative points for missing shoulder checks, improper hand positions and some details like this. He didn't think that there is any fundamental issues with my driving and my right turns were not slow at all in his opinion. The third time again my examiner was the woman. The exam was just one week after the first one and she totally remembered me. She started to treat irispectfully and disturbing me during the exam, although she didn't have the right to distract me and make me nervous. At the beginning, in a left turn, when I was entering the intersection and going to wait for the upcoming cars to pass, she yelled that "oh, what are you doing?". I said that nothing and I just want to wait here, thinking that did she just fail me again for doing nothing wrong? She continued the exam, asked for a parallel park and I realized that no, I am not failed. During the parallel parking, again when everything was OK and I was totally aware of the situation, she said that "oops, watch out the back of the car". I said I am aware of it, I continued my job and everything was fine. No touch with the front car at all. When we came back, and I saw the result, I realized that she did everything to fail me. Again she marked down 30 points for slow right turns and still I was passed with my score. But she said that in a left turn, I waited too long for the upcoming cars and although it was just a few seconds, she believed that I made a traffic obstacle and failed me automatically. Totally nonsense. Again she repeated her belief that I am a new driver and need more practice, even though I had driven for 10 years in my own country and for a couple of months in Canada (with my study permit and my Iranian driving-license.) As I said before, I changed the registry and booked another road test via Armour registries. It was a great experience. I passed easily, the examiner believed that my speed and my turns are totally fine. No negative marks for slow right turns at all. No disturbing, no rudeness and for a cheaper price. (14$ less!) So, I suggest not to waste your money here and don't take your road tests via this registry.

Terrible service sat there for half an hour while she failed to figure out what was going on with getting my license, the woman beside her with more experience would occasionally take a break from texting to help her. Only for them to after sitting there forever tell me the equipment for taking photos and signatures for licenses was down. An hour gone from my day, off to wait at another registry.

Both of my kids failed their test on the first try however when we went to another registry, they passed with flying colors. Since their experience, anyone I’ve talked to that has taken a driver’s test here, has failed on the first try. In my opinion, registries should not be privately run. The motivation is profit and there’s no recourse if they decide to fail you and pocket another $150.

I had high hopes when I went in here. The last time I came here was back in 2017, when I had the best experience. Parking is still free, and there still no line ups. Lots of chairs for you to sit on. But today, I regret coming here to get my registration renewal. It wasn't the same as before. The lady that help me early in the morning didn't seem enthusiastic or energetic enough. Just didn't seem she wanted to be there to do her work at all. I didn't want to be rude, and to just get up and leave ..to find a better service because I get it we go through stuff in our life, but please if you didn't feel well or whatever ..you could have stayed at home. Or if you didn't want to help me out, you could have just offered me to go to the other lady that I noticed was super nice and warm to the other clients.

I had visited this registry to get my personal info changed in my health card so that I can get the QR code for my vaccination. The staff here are so welcoming and polite. They will never disappoint you when you walk in with any service required. My query & concerns were taken care by Amrita. She had so much of patience to listen to my query and concern and got it done in a right way. I have visited so many registries, but never every I have came across such a professional and friendly staff. These girls know what they have to do and will never disappoint any one. Though everyone here had mask covered on their face, but still could see the smile behind the mask.? You girls rock??

Hello. I took my second road test in Capilano last month. Unfortunately, I was not able to pass it. Good thing my examiner was Victoria. As soon as we got in the car, I explained to her what happened during my first road test…and she replied “today is a new day, don’t worry about that anymore.” She immediately made me comfortable. After my test, she explained in details why I failed and the skills that I should work on. I will definitely take my third road test in Capilano again, I am hoping that Victoria will be my examiner again.

Great and friendly service. No line-up when I went there shortly after 5pm on a Wednesday. In and out. I mentioned to the woman who was helping me, that I would renew for 2 years, if there was some savings in doing so. That's when she told me that I could save $13.00 if I renewed for 2 years. So that is what I did. She also advised me that there's a charge for using a credit card, and suggested that I use my debit card, which I did. I didn't catch her name. But her Terminal # is: 30116515.
