★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've 2 legal names (just 1st name is in short form, last name same), everywhere i go, i show primary and secondary ID for official purposes, they accept it. SR doesn’t accept even you show your secondary ID. You need to visit at least two times for car registrations. When i tried to register my brand new car (all papers were there) they send me away to bring NVIC paper. I gave my road test at SR, instructor failed me for driving at 20 in 30 speed cause I was slow. I only go at SR cause it’s very close to my residence, otherwise I will be long gone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trying to take the knowledge test here for twice, the first time we have about 45mins left they said they cannot offer the test since it needs 60 mins, the second time I be here for 95mins (5:25 PM) in advance, the queue was not very long, the office is very low efficiency, the time they speak to me is 6:04 PM which is 4 minutes later. Because there was only two office people working. They just refused me again because of their low efficiency. NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE. I repeated myself for three times and she is not understanding what I was saying. Please ensure the officers have proper English Comprehension Abilities. Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Got a picture done here for license renewal. Called them to ask why it was taking so long, no one bothered to check my file. But instead told me to call service Alberta to find out why. Spent all day connecting to Service Canada to find out that it was an obstruction in the photo. Came in to retake the photo because now temporary license is expired. Lady tells me the obstruction of photo was due to my hoodie which covered the background. Why don't you guys inform customers of what is allowed/not allowed during pictures so as to not waste time? Turns out there's something wrong with the system and they can't even do license pictures anyways. I would advise NOT to go to this registry for license renewal pics since it doesn't seem like they are really clear on what is required for a picture.
Update: They told me I could go to any other registry and it would be free to take the picture. NOT TRUE. Went to another registry and had to pay $30. It is only free if I go back to the registry that messed up in the first place. ? Had I known that it would be free only at this registry for the retake, I would have planned to drop by again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Took the knowledge driving test there, and the office was crowded and noisy, so I found it really hard to concentrate. Providing ear muffs would have been much more professional. Also, completing the driving license application process was lengthy. Will not go there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hey, the small things matter. Got there to register a vehicle, found out I had tickets. The gentleman helping me gave me the ticket numbers so I could pay them online, saving their processing fee. The remainder of the transaction was professional and painless.

My most recent visit to transfer a plate to a new car was perhaps the easiest and most casual motor vehicle transaction ever. Much appreciated. The key to making these transactions painless is to show up with everything you need and not to complain about the fees, since those are set by the province and the registry is just the messenger.
