Cambridge Manor is a gong show. The only saving grace is the administrator - Colleen who is immensely approachable and extremely knowledgeable. The nurses and other staff for my parent constantly changed, there had been a huge staff turnover until she came on board. I would rate it negatively except for Colleen.

Great experience with great people. I have been visiting almost daily my mother with dementia for a few months now at Cambridge manor and from the visitation coordinator, the amazing friendly front desk staff, kind and organized Covid screening coordinator and the absolutely amazing nurses and support staff in Stilton. It’s not easy seeing a loved one go through these days but I am thankful for all the staff at this facility that make it a positive and supportive environment. They have treated my mother with absolute kindness and are very skilled in this kind of care. Thank you all for what you do daily to provide support at these very emotionally challenging times.

My 85yr old mom who has Parkinson’s has been at the Cambridge Manor for a year as of July 2020, shortly after they opened, right in the middle of the pandemic. Since then, i can honestly say, her overall health has improved remarkably. She has put on some much needed weight & she is more mobile due to the physio and activity programs she has been participating in ‘inhouse’ as well as the extra Physio from a private company, that Cambridge recommended to us. As with any new facility opening, we expected that there would be a period of challenges with the many different aspects of running a residence of this nature. After speaking with the right people regarding these matters there has been a marked improvement -each time I bring up a concern I am heard and feel and see that there is a conscious effort made to continue improving. The nursing staff have been very attentive to my mom. They are very kind and cheerful and sincerely try to ensure my mom is made comfortable throughout the day and night. Weldu & Alyssa have been really wonderful! I have expressed concern over the response times when the call bell is rung. I feel more staff is required to accommodate the number of residents. I am told they have hired one more staff person to help improve response times. I am hopeful that they will bring on more staff to accommodate the additional number of residents that are moving in. I am so grateful that we have Dr Jed as the Dr assigned to Cambridge. He has been very thorough and is very kind and caring. My mom really likes him as well. The cleaning staff do a great job at daily sanitizing my mom’s room -they too always have a kind word to say. The recreation team have also been working so hard to come up with fun, innovative ways to keep the residents entertained and busy-an especially difficult task during the lockdowns. As restrictions are lifted we are seeing a marked difference in the type of activities-looking forward to seeing more! My experiences with all the staff at the front desk since the beginning has been exceptionally kind and helpful.

We will always be grateful for the kindness, quality of care and friendship that my husband Joe received while he was a resident in the Stilton Unit at Cambridge Manor. As his health deteriorated in the final months we realized that he felt surrounded by a caring team and what a blessing and comfort that was. We found the gals at the front reception were always welcoming and helpful. Cambridge Manor is very fortunate to have Dr. Jed and so many caring and thoughtful staff working for them and it was our good fortune that Joe was able to reside at Cambridge Manor. Had the occasion to visit this residence to see a client. I was impressed by the modern building, the cleanliness of the hallways, the menus, the activities, the friendly approach of the staff and the staff diversity. This Brenda Stafford residential home would rank very high on my list of recommendations to anyone who asks. Congratulations to all!

I wish to sincerely express my appreciation and gratitude for the excellent care and support for my Mother’s well being as resident of the Addenbrooke community. Following two tours and discussions, first with Carol and then with Harold, my Mother did not hesitate to make the decision to move into Cambridge Manor. This was a big, big move for my Mom and one that she has handled with grace, after living in Eau Claire, downtown Calgary, for over 35 years with my father. From her first day as an official resident at Cambridge Manor my mother, myself and my husband have felt welcomed by all staff with smiles, patience and genuine kindness. My Mother’s transition to Addenbrooke has been relatively smooth and any little bumps were responded to with care and compassion. There isn’t a day that goes by that my Mom does not comment on the “delicious” food served at mealtimes. She is amazed by the choices for meals, the variety and appreciates the accommodation of serving her almond milk. Although shy and inexperienced with social dining, my Mom enjoys dining with the ladies in her group and is gaining confidence in joining in on the conversation. (Now if we can only get her hearing aids to work perfectly….) The table cloths at lunch and dinner times, the glass of wine on Saturdays, and other mini events and celebrations all contribute to helping my Mom feel special and provide opportunities for socializing. Exercise, fitness classes have become a routine my Mom truly looks forward to each morning. My Mom trusts and adores the nurse, Amy. With Amy she feels listened to and understood. I also wish to express the excellent management of the Covid protocols at Cambridge Manor. Huge bouquet to all staff who made an extra effort to ensure screening, rapid testing, and enhanced cleaning to prevent spread of the virus.

If you love your parents, take them somewhere else! We checked my father in here in June and by the end of August he passed away. My father needed assistance, and as individuals, the staff were nice and tried their best. But the place is under staffed. Dad was left on the toilet for over half an hour because staff were too busy to help him. He needed at least 2 people to help him each time because the staff never had lifts to help get him in and out of bed. It was all manual lifting. We complained about the lack of staff, they told us that they met minimum provincial guidelines. The doctor prescribed a diet for him, they never complied. He ended up malnourished and dehydrated. Before he passed, they sent him to the hospital but the special file they were supposed to send with him had none of the necessary information in it. I am so sorry we put Dad here and I hope he forgives us from heaven.
