11.95 for a meal which includes your main dish and an asian drink of choice. Pricer than the ones in BC but I suppose its location/tac etc based. It gets busy here but food comes at an adequate pace. Their bubble waffle is more of the crispy type and not the mushy cake ones. Flavours are decent (nothing special but hits the spot if you crave laksa or hainese chicken.

Like the combo menu for under $15 you get a meal with noodles/rice, drink , and a bubble waffle of your choice (Original, Sesame, Chocolate, Green Tea, Cheesecake, and Oreo). You can also customize your food and drinks. If you order online you also get 10% discount! Bubblewafflecafe.ca. Hainanese chicken rice was good. The rice roll with fish Siu Mai was ok since it was just plain rice roll and a few pieces of siu mai. A bit pricey for what you get at $9. The bubble waffle was crispy but lacking in flavor. Drinks were also a bit too sweet even though we all asked for less sugar. Like the concept and BC-based chain with first location in Calgary. Hope to see more!

Tried out this place for the first time. It is their first branch in Calgary. Food was good, service fast and the staff were friendly. The bubble waffle was great, the chicken nuggets tasty and I liked their hainanese chicken. For an additional $1 you can add a bubble waffle to your combo order. A place worth trying.

I like the decorations at the restaurant as it is kinda cute and playful. There are many different noodle/rice dishes you can choose from and it comes with a drink. If you get a regular dish for about $13.50, you can pay $1 for the bubble waffle. Otherwise the bubble waffle is about $4 if you purchase it on your own. I got the chicken laksa rice vermicelli and I was surprised by how much chicken they gave. The taste was good as well. I will definitely come back to try the other items. The only thing I didn't like was that everything was served in one time use disposable items. From the bowls, to utensils, to cups. It was all very unenvironmental.

April revised review - came here for the bubble waffles again and I am happy to find them much better. The fresh bubble waffles came out crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. All in all, I am happy with my visit this time. I hope they keep up with the quality of their food! Only downfall, green tea flavor was faint and sesame, I thought it would be flavoured but all it is, is sesame seeds added to the batter. Wanted to try the bubble waffles here for a while. I was really disappointed to find fresh made bubble waffles to be crispy on one side and soggy on the other side. Had to go home and reheat it. Once reheated, it was crispy outside, soft and chewy inside. However, I would hope a place named bubble waffle cafe to have their bubble waffles made right the first time. What's the point when you have to reheat it at home? I don't think because they're busy, they should sacrifice the quality of their food. Maybe I'll try it again some other time, hopefully I won't get disappointed again...

I grew up in Vancouver and Bubble Waffle Cafe use to be one of my favourites because who doesn't love those crispy chewy bubble waffles? I was super excited when I found out that there was a location in Calgary. Located in Chinatown right next to the gong cha. This spot offers some HK style dishes from rice to noodle soups to snacks along with HK style drinks and of course the bubble waffles. You order and pay at the counter, then they will bring your food to you or call your name for the order. You can get a combo for about $16 which includes a main dish, a drink and a bubble waffle. There was a mix up with our order, as we ordered oreo but got chocolate bubble waffle instead. When the staff dropped off our waffle at the table we noticed it looked just like chocolate so we asked "Is this oreo?" he said yes so we proceeded to just eat it anyways. After tasting it we knew it wasn't oreo and was indeed chocolate but that was fine with us. As we were discussing among ourselves at the table a guy overheard (I believe he was the manager) and stepped in and told us that it was indeed chocolate and apologized. We told him it was fine but he insisted in offering to remake our oreo still which was not needed but much appreciated. Detail Food Review: [Bubble Waffles] - These little bubbles have a crispy exterior with a chewy soft interior. They offer about 7 different flavours: original, chocolate, cheesecake, strawberry, sesame, green tea and oreo. My personal favourite is the original. [Hainan Chicken Rice] - You get a choice of regular steam rice of yellow rice, which I recommend going with the yellow rice as its infused with the chicken fat and broth which gives it a much better flavour and aroma. They are pretty generous with the portion and the chicken was juicy and tender. My two friends got the noodle soups, which I love that they are very customizable. You can pick your protein and then select a broth range from chicken broth to spicy broth to laksa. They have about six different broth base to select from. Then you can select your noodles, egg noodles, rice noodles etc. I believe they have 4-5 different noodles to select. For drinks, we went with the HK milk teas and lemon tea both are really good choices.

We tried the Oreo bubble waffle but actually it was quite vapid, I thought it suppose to be sweet waffle but not at all, may be lack of sugar or something. We also tried the laska with duck. The soup was a little bit spicy but taste good. It included the drink- Hong Kong style milk tea and I like the drink. The only thing i'm disappointed is the waffle

I was re-exploring Calgary's Chinatown today and strolled in to Bubble Waffle. The combos seem to be a nice deal on paper, and while the HK lemon tea and bubble waffle were refreshing and sweet, unfortunately the beef noodles were the worst I've ever had. Beef quality was a zero, and seemed to disintegrate into little particles after a bite, egg noodles had zero flavor and I had to ask for more hot chili sauce and soy sauce to taste anything - I just ended up not finishing it and went on to explore elsewhere. Street parking $4.50/hr, I wouldn't recommend the savory food here but the waffle was really good.
