★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The gentleman was super welcoming. Side dishes and water are given out for free. The food we ordered came out at the same time, so my friends and I were able to start eating together.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. The service was efficient and the interior was quite clean. They only lost one star due to the below average portion sizes.
Heads up there's a washroom at the back of the restaurant.

Its always fantastic and relaxed dining with Korean music/TV playing in the background. We always loved the potato croquettes, but they're now regular hashbrown patties (our one sadness).
I almost always order the Soft Tofu Soup and she goes between the Bulgogi and various meat dishes ex. Chicken with Green Onions (lately we've also been ordering Mandu).
This place never disappoints and has been our favourite spot since we were in our late teens/early twenties, and I don't think it will change anytime soon.
PS. Try the Korean Wild Berry Wine. We're obsessed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is by far one of the worst Korean restaurants in the city. If you want to leave feeling hungry then this is the place to go to. We purposefully ordered a bunch of dishes to try the variety but felt quite disappointed with the portion sizes.
A bunch of dishes were prepared in the good old microwave and the side dishes were anemic. There are far better choices in the city and I wouldn’t be surprised if this place shuts down in the near future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was walking around Chinatown and was in the mood for some soup. I ended up doing Korean and having the Yukgaejang. The people there was very nice and the soup tasted delicious. Had a nice spice to it, good heat. You do not get cheated either, portion size was very generous. The kimchi side dish was very flavorful as well. I was very pleased and highly recommend this place. Come out and support your local businesses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Soban Korean BBQ is a small Korean restaurant that serves many traditional Korean dishes. Serving favorites such as Korean bbq, kimchi stew and more.
The restaurant is located right inside of dragon city mall (in Chinatown). The interior isn't wide but it is long. Allowing for more customers to be seated. The decor gives customers the feeling of home. With walls lined with many trinkets.
The food is tasty and full of flavor. Each bite would make customers want to eat more. The kimchi fried rice wasn't overly spicy. Nor was it sour, as kimchi would normally be. The rice was nice and soft. The entire dish was well seasoned, making it extremely savory.
The kimchi stew was intense. It came out hot and spicy. Be wary, as it is spicier than most other stews. This dish is recommended for those who want a nice kick to their meal. There was a good portion of meat with both dishes. Making it feel filling when consumed.
The service is nice and friendly. The food came out really quick. There are only two downsides to this restaurant. That is portion and price. The food isn't extremely expensive. However, customers should look to pay slightly more for their favorite Korean dish. The portion does feel slightly smaller than other restaurants. Combining those two aspects can make the restaurant feel underwhelming.
Soban Korean BBQ restaurant should definitely be given a try if you are looking to try some delicious Korean food. Order some appetizers to guarantee that it fills you up!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am a fan of tucked away hidden corner restaurants fronts. Family run by a lovely couple. I have been coming to Soban periodically throughout the years. It's always the same comfort with great food. Never disappoints with flavor the wait is worth it for authentic taste!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I typically don’t really go out to Korean restaurant, apart from the one I work at Lmao, this place was really nice though. The kimchi was really good and seemed fresh. The potatoes were soooo good?. And it includes seaweed. I also ordered lettuce and Korean tea for 1,99! Seems good to me. The only thing that kind of disappoints is the meat portions. I ordered the spicy pork bulgogi and for 15 dollars I would expect maybe a bit more of meat on the plate. Overall, the food was amazing! Really good service too.
