K	Kent Suzuki on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They do a good job but you are just a credit card with a number on it. No friendliness, and so many robocalls. 9 months later update. Vision is perfect, even with my previous astigmatism. No flares or halos, and I am just putting in eye drops because I feel I should, not because my eyes are dry. To be fair, when I started, it was the middle of the pandemic and I am sure it was a stressful time. Now I feel it is getting back to their normal, a much more friendly environment. Definitely recommend!
S	Sam Nadison on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolute waste of time, and a shameful waste of our healthcare resources. No doctor should ever be paid by the healthcare system for services not rendered. This doctor should not be allowed to submit any documents to get paid... he did NOT work for it! Patients are treated like cattle at this clinic. All what they care about here is the number of patients they can see, not the number of patients they can treat. Special treatment is reserved for paitients paying for costly procedures. But, those referred through the healthcare system are brushed aside, just like cattle. After a two hour wait, Dr. Ma spent no more than two minutes with me. He didn't answer the only question I asked him, declined to provide any explanations, and told me to get the information from his assistant. I strongly advice everyone to find an alternative. Tell your family doctors not to refer you to this place.

I can not imagine the stress a doctor must be under when delivering top notch professional care to all their regular patients and then all of a sudden an emergency like me shows up. He made me feel at ease and right away I knew I was in good hands. Thank you so much Dr. Boyd.

This is the most professional team I have ever dealt with in the realm of health care in BC! Dr. Boyd and his entire staff are the ultimate in eye care. Thank you for everything!!
K	Kayziah Masih on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to BoydVision as a referral from my optometrist as I went in with a concern of a floater as this had never happened before and it was very noticeably in my line of vision. The front desk staff and technician taking photos of my eye were super pleasant, friendly and made the experience more pleasant. I commend BoydVision for having such dedicated workers with great customer service skills. The specialist I saw, unaware of his name as he never introduced himself, was an older gentlemen with glasses whom I assume is Dr. Boyd. He asked me if I was aware as to why I was sent to their office, while responding I was cut off before finishing and he looked at my eye. He told me there’s nothing to see and my optometrist was wrong as to his diagnosis. He said that what he was seeing is something I was born with. Which left me wondering why it only came into my line of vision now. He let me continue my story of what initially brought me into the optometrist. He said that had nothing to do with why I was there. Not only did this doctor dismiss me and my concerns and could not provide me with any information on my initial concern, but he also wore his face mask only over his mouth and as he was examining my eye I felt his breath going into my eye and on my face. Not a practice I would recommend going to.
E	Ec Fellow on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came to this place by referral from my family physician. Because of my eye condition, I need to return here 3 times. It was worst specialist experience I have ever had. The office is crowded and patients are treated like animals with no personal service and no information given about my condition at all. Each time I got into the room to see Dr. Steven Ma after a long wait, I inquired about my condition and the treatment plan, he would simply turn to his assistant and talk softly to her , then walk out of the room after his job is done. I had an anticipation for some insight from his assistant every time but got disappointed by hearing them repeat themselves the same instructions Dr. Ma said in the room. This place makes me feel like I am manhandled like an animal, not treated. When you are seeing Dr. Ma, do not expect he can tell you any information about your case. Next time I need ophthalmology services, I will refuse to come here again and will recommend others to do the same.
A	André the Free on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not sure why there are negative reviews. Yes, a very small percentage of people experience complications, and that is a statistic. Every single member of the staff are super friendly, accommodating, and hospitable. I got LASIK for both eyes, and it includes pre and post op care, and touch ups too. A week after my procedure, and I effectively have 20/10 vision (better than 20/20!!) The staff was amazing at calming my nerves, they were very kind and reassuring. The operation itself was about 15 minutes long, and like any operation there will be pain afterwards, but before the day was over my eyes were already functional (wearing shades and using eye drops often) with strong vision. Dr. Boyd did amazing work! I've only done LASIK with them, and so far the experience has surpassed my expectations.
G	G Vadar on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr Boyd examined my eyes for the pre consultation, he was thorough and answered all my questions. He was also forthcoming when advising of my eye conditions he observed and their associated risks. The appointment was not long at all, but he did not end it before making sure I had no more questions. All the reception staff were great, a special shout out to Sara who diligently responded to most of my relentless emails. My surgery was performed as described, a month later my vision is just shy of perfect and recovery is great despite slight delays due to my pre existing conditions. 100% recommend I do agree with some less kind reviews that the reception area is not large and there was definitely a wait between my appointment time and when I was seen. I believe that is the standard for any health care service in BC, and probably won’t change for the better with our current provincial health model/government/supply.
