G	Grace C on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stumbled upon Boxcar during civic long weekend and were pleasantly surprised. Small menu but really good - favourite was the falafel plate ?? Nice lil spot by the water with friendly service.
G	Ghazal Hemmati on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spacious with a great view of the lake. The problem is the limited menu, not serving food till noon and not being open every day. Make sure you visit the website before heading there, as the place maybe closed for events.

I use earplugs or headphones to disconnect so I’m okay with the noise. Food quality is good and staff is very friendly

But sitting one Friday afternoon by the lake and have a drink and looking at the boats, yachts and people passing by is the only reason I will try this place again. The wine in the picture was good too ? Try it for yourself and share it here with me! Cheers ?

However, if you start getting hungry, you may be better off going to the grocery store. Their menu is extremely small, which could be an advantage in many many situations… except here. We all felt like we ordered something just because we wanted to eat and chose the decent options but we weren’t thrilled by it. Food was ok. My group of three got the fries to share for the table which was the highlight, a kale salad, the wings with bbq and honey sauce and some cheese and tomato cold plate. They were okay. The wings were good but a little bit expensive. As for drinks, my friend ordered an iced tea that tasted burnt, flat. It was horrible and she couldn’t finish it even after trying to sweeten it with many things. Other friend got a pink lemonade for the price of a beer and it was a big mistake. Beer never fails, so my IPA made the evening enjoyable. Now, the area and the view are nice; next to the gulls and the lake. You definitely are paying for the location. I won’t come back because as much as I like the waterfront I could have a better time with making a sandwich and bringing my own beer, since service wasn’t too friendly or great either.

Lots of seating (high chairs, booths and long tables), view of the water, good wifi, great menu variety and good portions. What I appreciated the most is the diversity of customers- moms with strollers grabbing coffee, groups of friends having drinks, and couples on dates (I was working on a laptop and had time to people watch haha). Great staff and service. Will definitely be back!

With the breathtaking view of the waters and mouth watering lattes/pastries/food - I would highly recommend to experience this. Needless to say, perfect & proper service. You can scan the QR code, order food, enjoy and pay the bill without an hassle.
