Blue Colibri

Gee and Ieva photographed our wedding and our engagement session and did such an incredible job! They are lovely people and so easy to work with. And of course, all of the photos came out beautifully. I would 100% recommend them to anyone in search of a photographer!

We used Blue Colibri for our Distillery district wedding photography this August, as well as a prior ‘People in Love’ shoot. I can’t tell you how incredibly happy we were with all the photos from both sessions! Gee & Ieva totally lived up to their description/reviews of delivering stunning and authentic photography that really tells the story of your day. It was exactly the style we were looking for; beautifully taken photos that captured the special moments, and were not posed/awkward. They were also particularly amazing at blending into the background of the day; capturing so many creative shots and subtle moments that on the day I had no idea they were taking. The days goes by in such a blur that it is these little details and moments that you want the memories of. I would also highly advise doing on a ‘people in love’ shoot with them beforehand – this was something I was initially unsure about, but was so beneficial for us both in getting comfortable on camera, as well as producing some gorgeous pictures which we used in the wedding décor. Beyond the amazing quality of their work, Gee and Ieva were an absolute delight to work with. They are both super personable people, who put you at ease in just being yourself on camera. They are not in any way pushy, and will simply go with the flow of your day. I knew that I wanted Blue Colibri to photograph my wedding day after seeing the photography they produced for a friends wedding last year. It's daunting to choose photographers for such a momentous occasion in your life, but Gee and Ieva are incredibly skilled, professional, and equally easy-going. They are truly as invested as you are in producing the best and most beautiful work possible for you to enjoy for years to come. Since I was nervous about being in front of the camera, we decided to book and engagement session with Gee and Ieva after we secured them for our wedding day. I'm so glad we decided to do the engagement photos - they immediately made us both feel so comfortable and relaxed, and encouraged us to be natural and have fun with it. We certainly needed a lot of direction on how to stand or where to put our hands in front of the camera, but they guided us through it without making us feel awkward and made the afternoon so much fun. After the engagement session, I felt so confident and grateful to have Gee and Ieva with us on our wedding day. They felt like friends snapping beautiful pictures of us, our wedding party, some family shots; and they are particularly skilled at catching those special, candid moments. Since we planned to do all of our formal photography before the ceremony, they scouted several locations around our venue beforehand which was so helpful and kept our wedding party organized and on time. During the ceremony, cocktail hour, the speeches and when the party got going; I barely noticed that they were there. I mean this in the best way possible; they blended seamlessly into the crowd, but were right where they needed to be to capture the important moments. I can't imagine our wedding day without Gee and Ieva; they made everything so easy and natural, and you really feel like you re-live the whole day and all the happy memories through their photography. You couldn't ask for better photographers; they are efficient, organized, professional, friendly, and talented, but most of all you can trust them to create the most beautiful images possible.

Gee and Ieva are truly wonderful photographers. We were so impressed with their talent, overall ease to work with and responsiveness over the course of our wedding planning process. My husband and I are so grateful for the beautiful memories that were captured on the day and the high quality service we received. I cannot recommend Blue Colibri enough!

My husband and I were very impressed with Gee and Ieva's portfolio and knew we wanted to hire them right away. They had the exact look that we wanted -- photojournalism mixed with a dreamy, romantic quality. They were great to work with -- professional and friendly, and they provided us with gorgeous photos that we have received many compliments on! Gee and Ieva were so amazing and so easy to work with! Their creativity is beyond imaginary the photos came out much better than we had ever hoped for. We got our photos within 3 weeks to our surprise. We didn't give them any direction, and had no idea what we wanted our photos to look like. They put us in positions and made everything so beautiful. They captured all the important moments and they turned out beautifully (even the ugly cries). I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a wedding photographer, their love for photography and eachother really show in the photos that they take for others.

My husband and I are so glad we chose to go with Blue Colibri for our engagement and wedding photography. We can't say enough good things about Gee and Ieva- the masterminds behind the lens :) They were professional and sweet from the start- always so easy to get in contact with, open to discussing ideas and delivering our engagement pictures within 3 weeks and our wedding photos within 2 weeks (WOW!). The actual shoot with Gee and Ieva was tons of fun, as they made us feel immediately comfortable behind the lens. We are not naturally the most photogenic pair, but the images they produced would speak otherwise! There wasn't a single photo we didn't love... partly because they maade us look good (thanks guys), but more so for how beautifully they captured the light, the people and the atmosphere of the day. They are definitely pictures that tell a story, and ones that we will go back to again and again.

We had the distinct honour of having Blue Colibri (Gee and Ieva) shoot our August 2017 wedding at the RCYC on Toronto Island. We were fortunate enough to stumble upon some of their work while looking at different Toronto venues and contacted them immediately. We initially hired them to shoot 10 hours but then a few weeks before the big day we asked if we could extend to 12 and that was no problem at all. It was their first time shooting our venue and they did a wonderful job scouting the best locations. The day turned out to have quite flat light but they were still able to capture all of the magic of the day. My husband and I decided to do the photos before the ceremony and they set up the perfect location for us to meet. Everyone we have shown our wedding photos to have all said how wonderful and beautiful they are. Some of our guests remarked that they didn’t even notice photographers buzzing around the reception or ceremony, and that’s a good thing! Gee and Ieva were extremely professional and captured all of the best moments of the day. I keep on going though the photos to re live a truly magical day. Last but not least, Blue Colibri was very reasonably priced and we felt that they went above and beyond their duties. I would recommend them to anyone looking to hire not only a wedding photographer but someone who would like portraits or any other staged photographs.
