β β β β β Got the blackball grass jelly to go (no indoor dining due to public health orders) and it was delicious and really filling. The owner and all staff were extremely polite and kind. Canβt wait to go back to try some of their food like the Taiwanese fried chicken. Highly recommended!

β β β β β Wanted no ice and got two cups of iced milk tea with the label saying βno iceβ . My friends stomach is hurting badly now because of the ice milk tea. Really not with it.

β β β β β We were initially skeptical because of the name ~ itβs slightly offensive if you donβt know itβs a direct translation for boba pearls really. Having grown up in Taiwan, I had to explain that to the hubby. Now letβs get down to it, we LOVED the desserts here more than we thought we would! First off the tofu based one was silky and soft as a babyβs bottom, and contrasting that are the delectably chewy mini sticky rice balls just making this a symphony of downright beautiful texture in oneβs mouth. To top that off, this thang is pleasantly sweetened just enough to give you the satisfaction a dessert should without giving you an insulin shock. The anni tofu + mini balls are ?on our replay list!
Equally stunning in flavor and texture was the aiyu jelly one with the QQ add-ons. The aiyu ~ I gotta sing its praises ~ its texture is soft rather than gelatinous like other shops, so you know this is fresh and of high quality. The flavor of that aiyu is on point and so refreshing I felt like I just rolled down a beautiful meadow! I can go on and I see that I have!
To sum it up, these two desserts take me back to the streets of Taiwan. Do not hesitate, go eeeeat these up!

β β β β β I wish I found out about blackball earlier haha. I recently found out this was a local store, so I rushed over when I had the chance.
I had no idea they sold icecream with authentic Taiwanese flavors like milktea, and soymilk! Tastes just like home ?.
I hadn't tried the drinks, because the price is a bit higher than comfort, but I'll definitely come back one day to try the other items.

β β β β β Absolutely love this place.
I always go for milk tea (yes boring and predictable but you canβt beat the OG of bbt) ? and this place does a fine job.
The best parts are:
- all the Castella pastries. I cant say enough about their cheese tarts and the tiramisu. ???
- the atmosphere, usually has tables to sit, and very bright and comfortable and WARM (itβs so hard to find places that have heat, and care that their customers arenβt dying from hypothermia, ok maybe thisβs just me and my cold bloodedness)
- the food, their waffle sandwiches are delicious. Try it.
- the staff. Yesterday going there I really felt a difference in the friendliness of the staff. Perhaps the friendly owner was there and set a good example, but the entire place felt so positive and happy. Really appreciated my visit with that kind of energy present ?

β β β β β Had a fantastic experience with them today. I wanted to get takeout, but was sick of all the take out containers. I asked them if I could use my own containers, and they were very happy to help do our little bit to reduce waste.
Not to mention, the blackball supreme was absolutely delicious. The grass jelly had a wonderful texture. The taro balls and stuff were chewy, and not too sweet.. but tasted authentic and made with quality ingredients. Everything was great. The fact that I didn't have to generate extra waste and I got to share it with my family was just great.

β β β β β I tried a cheese tart, Taiwanese crepe, and drink here and was blown away by how good everything was. The cheese tarts are freshly baked and food and drink are made to order with fresh ingredients. I thought the fusion in the smoked salmon crepe was really interesting and successful. Service was really friendly and helpful. The shop is tidy and comfortable with lots of seating, so it's a good place to hang out for a while.

β β β β β Awesome to meet a kind, charismatic, generous owner, Tim! My partner and I enjoyed the hot pot and ice cream and will definitely come back again. The place was pretty much full Friday night when we went which is a good sign :)
