Had tune up, new chain, cassette, shift cable, wheel and other parts, this is the first time that a proper service was done…. I’ve gone to several different shops over the years, without fail they would get the gear indexing wrong and I would have to bring it back often several times. I recommend Bike Repair Centre , they’ll do it right the first time?

They take the time when you drop off your bike to tell you what repairs are needed and how much they will charge you. When picking up, they tell you what the problem was, and how they fixed it. Great communication and very professional service and repair work compared to their competitor down the block that shall remain unnamed.

John and his crew were extremely helpful guys, not only did they diagnose the issues right away. I feel like just bought another 10yrs on my already old bike and now the chain-system, gears and brakes work better than they ever did before. I was prepared to buy a new bike and $185 gave my bike a whole new life and saved me $6-700. Should've done it sooner over a couple-a bucks. Great store. You can't get that service at big store where nobody cares. Jon was excellent.

I've just biked home from the Bike Repair Centre on my newly repaired bike and I'm delighted by the experience. I've tried out five other Vancouver bike shops over the past decade for various small and larger repairs. Over the past three years, I've been to three different bike shops because of a clicking sound and a ride that felt increasingly not smooth. A couple of places thought they knew what it was and fixed something, but the clicking continued with no improvement. The third place couldn't hear the noise and suggested I just wasn't getting the friction shifter for my gears exactly in the right place. When I brought my bike into the Bike Repair Center, John went over it with me and very quickly showed me a number of problems - a wheel that was ancient and causing vibration, a gear set and chain that were worn, and pedals that were worn out and loose, among other things. As I'm someone who doesn't have a background in mechanics, I greatly appreciated John's ability to quickly and accurately pinpoint the problems and explain them to me in simple terms without talking down to me. He was great with all my questions and seems to consider education about bike care part of his job. It's a slow season and he said it would take a couple of days to finish all the work, but called me the next day to say my bike was ready. The ride home was unbelievably smooth. No noise or vibration, everything feels steady and tight, and my bike feels much safer and infinitely more enjoyable to ride than it has for the past couple of years. I'm delighted with the whole experience and will be returning here for ongoing bike maintenance and repairs, and recommending this place to friends. Been here 3 times over the years and will continue to do so. Have only gone for routine bike maintenance but it's because the result and care from these visits allow us to ride our bikes with confidence and for long periods of time between much needed maintenance. John is very thorough, meticulous, and honest with his work - you know what you're going to expect when you drop your bike off - never tries to impose a product or extra work - just gets the job done. It's pretty impressive how much he knows or remembers of your bike without looking much into his records - he knows his work and prides in it. There are many bike shops/repair shops around the neighbourhood and he has predominantly the highest rating and reviews and there is truly a reason why. We highly recommend Bike Repair Centre.
