Cycle BC Rentals & Tours

I booked a trip in September to ride with a good friend through the Rockies. It was our first trip in the new normal and we wanted to do something to help local businesses who had been impacted by travel restrictions. Rather than repeat all the positive reviews already written (all true and spot on) I will add a twist: My bike even though it was well maintained broke down in the middle of nowhere half way through my. Things happen and usually to me lol. But somehow like magic another bike appeared the next day and I was on my way. I was blown away and can’t say enough good thing about the professionalism and empathy I encountered working through this setback in less than ideal times or frame of mind. I will always be thankful to the team at Cycle BC and would recommend them without hesitation. We plan on going back every year.

Unfortunately, renting a motorcycle from them hasn't been what it should be. In short, they don't take their business serious enough. Rented a Africa Twin for 5 days. The bike looked fine at pickup, even though it showed 50TKM (I should have turned away right there). Everything checked out and was functional. On the second day driving noticed vertical bouncing on the front tire after driving an hour. Adjusted the rear suspension to compensate with no effect. Send a message to Cycle BC which they replied with 'try to adjust the rear suspension' ?. At that point it was clear that either the chain was warn out, the front tire's bearing was seizing or the suspension was warn out. The breaks were fine, no overheating. Having driven motorcycles for 25 years you can tell if the suspension is that bad that the front tire wants to bounce ?. Well, the bounce on the front tire got worse to a point that a novice rider would have probably just parked the bike on the side of the road. But hey, I didn't want them to have to pick up the bike somewhere on the island so I kept going. But here is were things got unacceptable. When I returned the bike (one day earlier) I walked into their shop and they barely wanted to talk to me. Bare in mind, we only communicate once about the bike's issue and they didn't even reply when I told them that adjusting the rear suspension didn't change anything. I had to convince them to take a test drive and they came back saying that there is nothing wrong with the bike. I told them that this is a serious issue and it only really shows after the bike gets warm (sounds like a bearing or chain, right?). I also told them this bike should not be driven and most certainly not go out on a rental. They offered me a lukearm 'we can refund you one day rental'. Keep in mind I returned the bike one day early ?. I told them that this is not about the money, but this bike should not be on the road like this. As a last resort they said: 'we heard from a friend who rides a Africa Twin that he had a similar problem and never could fix it'. That statement together with the fact that they even have a bike with more then 50TKM in their rental fleet raises so many questions. Anyways, they promised they will have the bike thoroughly tested (with luggage for weight) and get back to me. Since they have not reached out to me I have to assume they gave the bike a good wash and put back into the rental fleet.

I contacted Cycle BC Rentals & Tours weeks before our visit to Vancouver to ask if we will be able to rent a vespa despite having a foreign drivers license. They were very polite and professional over the phone and assured me that we could. they took the time to explain the process with payment and insurance too. We arrived to Cycle BC last weekend in the afternoon and were assisted by Harry, a very knowledgeable and professional young man who made the experience A+ (Thank you again Harry). We took the vespa all around downtown and up to Whytecliff Park, although going up the hills was very slow, we had a blast and couldn't stop laughing ?. We spent a little under $100 CA for 4 hours and it was worth every penny, I definitely recommend Cycle BC Rentals to anyone that wants to see the city and its areas from a different perspective. we will for sure be visiting them again on our next trip to Vancouver.

We rented bicycles for 2 days. The bikes were great, came with locks and helmets. The pickup and drop off were easy, we had the flexibility to return the bikes whenever we wanted so could keep them longer if needed. We would rent from here again.

Great experience renting a moped here. So fun! What a great way to zip around Vancouver. Decent pricing and friendly staff. Thanks!

2021. 9. I rented Triumph Tiger 1200, tour for Rocky(Jasper and Banff). Well maintained bike made me ride safe and joyful. Thanks to crew.

A great motorcycle rental shop. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, they have a wide variety of motorcycles and also scooters and bicycles. I rented a BMW F750 GS for a 6 day road trip, it was great. I brought my own zumo GPS and they installed the cradle for me as requested. They are conveniently located close to a commuter train station so it's easy to plan a trip that is fly-in, take the train from the Vancouver airport, ride and fly-out.
