Best Western Wainwright Inn & Suites - Wainwright

I’m writing this 3:30AM with my sleep ruined by firm pillows that Best Western loves to offer as the ONLY choice to their guests! For one last time if you care to read and take action: Please put a combination of soft and firm pillows on the bed. I made this comment many times and BW doesn’t want to listen. Next time I’ll buy a soft pillow from Walmart and share the cost by a 2 star review for your hotel

Very dissatisfied! Upon arrival we find out that the excerise area & pool were under construction, which we were ok with as we had a busy weekend at a ball tournament. The baggage cart was hard to maneuver as the tires were close to being flat. When we entered our room it definitely was a smokers room at one time, it was a very musty & smelt like old cigarette smoke. Then unfortunately our elevator quit and we had to take the stairs to the 4th floor & my lung capacity isn’t great. So my breathing was very laboured by time we reached the 4th floor. The tub/shower diverter wasn’t working properly, we had more water coming out of the spout than the shower head.Then after coming back from the tournament at 10:30 pm all we wanted was a hot shower and sleep. Entered our room and it wasn’t cleaned, so tried phoning the front desk 10 + times and kept getting sorry operator busy try again. So phoned the motel’s direct line and the call was answered right away, when we asked if there was a reason our room wasn’t cleaned the reply we got was yeah all our rooms were booked and the cleaning personnel didn’t get to all the rooms, but they tried to get to every room to see if things were needed and sorry that they didn’t get to ours. So yes, they did bring up more towels, coffee etc. I feel after spending $300. plus for a 2 night stay and we weren’t offered any compensation for the lack of service an amenities. Then on check out we didn’t get a thank you, or how was your stay, but we did get have a nice day. I am hard pressed to ever stay at this location again.

We're decently satisfied. We had two young children with us, and the family suite with a separate bedroom for kids was a godsend. The rest of the room was as expected -- clean sheets, comfortable beds and pillows, decent seating, lots of TV channels, friendly staff. The breakfasts were pretty good, especially for a small town hotel. It's a very convenient location, with several large stores adjacent. The big downside was that the pool and fitness center were both closed for construction. We booked through Expedia and they made no mention of this when booking a room at the Best Western. The nearby Ramada also has their pool closed, but Ramada informed Expedia and Expedia displays the message for the Ramada. There were minor issues with several power outlets (they're very touchy and devices lose power if you breathe on the plug), and the curtain rod is bowed outwards without a deep lip on the shower floor to keep the curtain it. Water just pools on the floor, and you need to sacrifice a towel to soak it up. We'd visit again just because of the availability of the family suites, which the competing Ramada doesn't have.

A lot better than the last BW I stayed at. Clean rooms, pleasant and friendly front desk staff. Decent breakfast. Many choices. Would stay here again.

I think if a hotel is doing a major reno they should advertise it so traveler can make an informed decision whether they'd loke to stay somewhere else

Great rooms that are actually suites, and amazing friendly and helpful staff. Very welcoming and helpful. A wonderful breakfast was included. Great place to stay ion Wainwright!

I didn't get a chance to stay due to an emergency at the hotel. When I arrived the ladies were very helpful in finding another hotel and giving suggestions as every hotel were booked for the weekend. These ladies looked up phone numbers and suggested best other accommodations. They turned something that could have been stressful to something less stressful.

Nice, very clean hotel. And the staff was amazing. Going extra mile to accommodate guests (I witnessed few occassions when they went out of their way to help guests). They deserve a top mark.
