I don't normally write reviews about companies unless they have personally impacted me. Last weekend, Besolar hosted a pro beach volleyball tournament down at Willows beach. 15 teams from across southern BC came to enjoy a fun day in the sun to see who was the best volleyball team around the Island. On this day, Besolar was the needles that knit a warm sweater of community which provided an entertaining spectacle for nearby beach goers and allowed 30+ volleyball players, fans to get together. Companies getting involved in the community is what Victoria needs more of, and Besolar really shined on this day. The team that organized this event are incredible organizers and thoughtful community planners. Both qualities garner my respect and admiration. I hope this short story has earned yours too. Besolar designed and installed an 8kw rooftop solar system for us in May 2022. They were awesome from the outset. Within 2 days of our initial inquiry (April) we had 3 design options each with different costs to evaluate. The costs were very competitive compared to other local providers. After a site visit and some questions, we selected an option and gave a deposit. About a month later it was all done and installed and producing power. Their lead installer on our job, Brandon, couldn’t have been better. He kept us up to date on progress and issues and was able to adapt on the fly. He also made sure the worksite was tidy and clean at the end of the day, each day. The electricians were great and were able to find economical solutions as our panel was full (and old). The price quoted was the price we paid (to the penny). They finished a week ahead of their initial schedule (which was already a very aggressive schedule). Great communication and coordination from their lead project manager (Curtis) who by all accounts seems like a great guy. We’ve had a lot of contractors do work on our house over the years; besolar was the best. No upsell. No BS. They do exactly what they say for the price quoted. They got the job done on time, on budget and with minimal impact to my life. Also the equipment the installed appears to be high end. The iOS app for solar monitoring is great and shows real-time production by individual panel and/or total system production in real time, by day, week, month, year etc. Highly recommended!

My five stars is to the credit of Besolar’s administrative manager, Curtis. He follows through on promises made, listens and is quite obviously committed to meeting & exceeding expectations. I cannot comment on Besolar’s installation services yet, as we have some things to sort out with our living situation before taking a next step…but I can recommend reaching out to Curtis at Besolar if you are considering a solar system for your business or your home.

BeSolar recently completed the installation of a large 68 panel solar array on my home. Prior to choosing BeSolar I received proposals and on-site visits from two other companies. I ultimately chose BeSolar based on their excellent reputation as well as their affiliation with Brewis Electric, a company that’s been on the island for 40+ years. Their extensive network of suppliers enables them to obtain parts that are in high demand, and having all of that in-house electrical knowledge and expertise definitely sets them apart from the competition. Additionally, given that the labour and PV components carry a 25 year warranty it makes sense to go with a well established company. From the outset the project was somewhat logistically complex given that my electrical panel had to be swapped out / upgraded in order to accommodate the increased electrical load. In many instances this isn’t necessary, but my system incorporates three separate inverters in order to minimize “clipping” - a phenomenon whereby potential energy is lost when the power generated via the solar panels exceeds the capacity of the inverter. Again, this is where BeSolar’s relationship to Brewis was integral to the success of the project. Given the supply chain issues, they were able to obtain a suitable (225 bus bar rated) panel at a time when these were in very short supply across Canada. Despite some further supply chain and weather related challenges in the end BeSolar came through with flying colours, and I now have a PV system that produces a whopping 76% energy offset! I would like to thank Curtis (admin), Greg (management), Jordan (electrical), Donovan and Brandon (installers extraordinaire) and the rest of the crew who worked so tirelessly and amicably to make my PV power plant into a reality! If you’re looking to “go solar” I highly recommend BeSolar.

Amazing experience, from inquiry to installation This company helps in every way, no question goes unanswered. They under promised and over delivered. Greg so helpful with information on solar, Curtis with all admin for set up and grant , so helpful , Jordan got us all hooked up and Cole and Omar worked hard with installation. We Could not be happier. We would highly recommend this company if you are considering solar power they are what they claim and more
