E	Evan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This company will steal your money and leave your project unfinished with leans on your home. These companies shut down then open up with different names. Sub trades don't get paid then they come after the home owner. People like Alex the owner lie and play the victim role while stealing people's money and trust. Shame on BalmBuilt.
L	Lenka Los on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In September 2019 we entered a contract with Balmbuilt to renovate our house. It is now February 2021, Balmbuilt has been in breach of contract for close to a year and the house is still largely incomplete and uninhabitable. We have given Balmbuilt every opportunity to come into compliance with our Agreement but have now been forced to terminate from our side. Balmbuilt has made repeated promises, both verbally and in writing that it would bring the project to substantial completion by the summer of 2020, then Christmas. Month after month trades rarely show up and when they do, they leave their work unfinished. TO DATE THE FOLLLOWING HAVE STILL NOT BEEN COMPLETED Plumbing fixtures, Doors and door hardware, Electrical/mechanical/HVAC, Brickwork, Exterior aluminum/windows, Exterior trim, Baseboards, Painting, Appliance installation. Other major elements have been "scheduled for delivery" at least 3 times - Windows, exterior doors, skylights and roofing, Stairs and railing - and yet we have discovered that no deposits have been made and orders have not even been placed - even though we have paid Balmbuilt for all of these items. To compound matters, we have had subtrades come to us for non-payment. Balmbuilt has not disbursed funds as we have repeatedly requested, resulting in trades refusing to return to finish work. We have attempted to come to a fair resolution but the firm has ceased communicating. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

We bought an older home and decided to have it completely renovated. Alex and his crew transformed the house into a masterpiece. Thank Alex and crew, you were a pleasure to work with.

The professionals at this company were patient and understanding given our new situation. They were very knowledgeable on the requirements and how to ensure that my family would be comfortable for the long term. We are extremely grateful to have Balmbuilt complete our new requirements.

Alex wants to be paid upfront for his work but when its time to pay the other trades he cries poverty and is no where to be found. Now he's in hiding, might as well shut down the company its garbage. Why is it still on google? Lol
V	V. Thomas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We signed a renovation contract with Alex Balm and BalmBuilt Ltd. in July 2020. The scope of work included new plumbing, electrical, kitchen, bathrooms, stairs and flooring. The estimated timeframe given for completion was approximately ten weeks. Initially the project proceeded as scheduled. We remitted funds to Alex as requested and in accordance with the payment schedule. On July 23, 2020 we received an update from Alex stating “we are currently tracking to have you the house on September 11”. On August 28, 2020 we were contacted by the electrician. He intended to place a construction lien on our house because Alex gave him an NSF cheque. He cancelled the electrical permit for the job. Alex gave us numerous assurances regarding the completion of the project. To date the millwork company has not been paid the required deposit in order to start production of the kitchen. The bathroom fixtures we selected in July 2020 remain in the vendor’s warehouse pending payment. In addition the stairs have not been ordered. Alex collected funds from us for these items. After nine months we terminated our relationship with Alex Balm and BalmBuilt Ltd.

I am so happy that I chose to work with Alex and his team. Alex has extensive construction knowledge and his team of trades had delivered exceptional quality. I will work with them again in the future.
S	Sunny Gupta on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We engaged with Balmbuilt in July, 2021 to obtain a building permit for a home renovation. It took nearly 7 months for the permit application to be submitted. And 2 months after the City has provided feedback there is now no response and Alex has ghosted us so we cannot proceed. Unprofessional, poor customer service. Very disappointing. We will now have to spend thousands more and waste time to engage with someone that is competent to get our work completed.
