Good hike, my 6 and 8 year old loved this hike especially the part where you walk through the rocky riverbed. Make sure you bring a good pair of hiking shoes. Most of the elevation is gradual except for the last little bit, but the view is amazing from up top.

Challenging for a beginner like me. Well worth the effort. The trail on the way down didn't have a well marked path, I'm glad one of us had trails.com to keep us in track.

It's an ok trail. At the pass, you have to search for a good view. Climb a little bit more to reach an awesome view.

Gradual hike at first. Gets steep in the last maybe 25% of the way. I don't hike often, so I took the steep part in small steps and very gradually. I would consider myself as maybe a bit above average fitness level; on any given day, I can get up and go for a 5 km run on a relatively flat surface, if that gives you an idea. I still quite enjoyed the trail. Be prepared for lots of loose rocks on the way up along the stream bed, maybe around 5-6" dia on average. The temperature does drop as you go up, but I was fine with it, wearing a t-shirt and shorts. It was a sunny day with a few clouds, August 3rd. When you get to the top (not all the way up Baldy Mtn), the views are of mountains, hills, and trees. I did not spot any rivers, creeks, or lakes. This trail does continue on if you wish to make the accent up Baldy Mountain.

It's a shorter hike, not too much elevation. Trail is easy to follow and starts right by the parking lot with out houses and signage. Great hike for someone getting into hiking or looking for a short (4 hour) or less technical/challenging trip. Note that it has a small amount of scrambling but nothing off-putting. You can make it a loop with about 500m walking along the highway to get back to the main parking.

We hiked up to Baldy Pass and then continued on to Mount Baldy. Up to the pass there are a few views and a little bit of ice. We used our spikes in some part. Once you get to the pass the views start and there is no more snow or ice all the way to the summit. This part of the trail is spectacular. The trail is easy to follow and has a variety of terrain including a little bit of scrambling. The views are never ending!! We descended down the scree slope, which still had quite a bit of snow on it. Lost a lot of elevation very quickly by just sitting on the snow and sliding down, tobogganing without the toboggan. We recorded 14.1 KM and 925 M of elevation gain.
