About Avis Car Rental

All additional drivers must be at least 25 years of age. The following are exempt from the additional driver fee but must meet all other driver requirements: the renter's employer or fellow employee when on company business and renting under a corporate account; the renter's spouse or domestic partner; the companion driver of a renter with a disability who has completed the non-licensed renter form; for insurance replacement rentals, company employees or family members who are designated on the insurance policy. All other additional drivers must complete and sign an additional driver form and present valid credit identification. A maximum of two additional drivers may complete a form.

For all US states other than NV and NY, the additional driver fee is $13 per day per driver with a maximum charge of $65 per driver. The fee in New York is $3 per day per driver. The fee in Nevada is $11 per day per driver with a maximum of $55 per driver.

Booked off airline car rental option. Because no cars avail at airport location they booked me downtown Sudbury without my knowledge as no cars at airport. $44 cab ride and my full size unavailable, got midsize.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They were so unbelievably rude to my cousin. At one point, my cousin walked away as we had finished signing all the necessary paperwork and such, and the lady working there called after and in a very rude tone said "well do you want your keys?". I went in and told them I did not appreciate how rude they were to us, as we were loyal, paying customers and their attitude was completely disrespectful, and was told that I couldn't just "walk in there" and disrupt their workplace and was basically shouted at to leave. I am pretty sure as a paying customer I have every right to express if I felt disrespected. We have been using AVIS for years but now will never again.

If i could give 0 stars I would. This place can't even pick up the phone. I was trying to call them to let them know someone was trying to get a Key Fob made for the rental vehicle.... BUT NOW, they can have fun guessing which of their rental vehicles has been compromised! I tried to help, but now its up to you guys.

Their service is a total disaster as i have booked a car which they not only failed to deliver but also made me go to their various branches across Sudbury where still i could not get the car. I would not suggest this firm to anyone who wishes to rent out a car.

This was a massive hassle. I was given incorrect information and had to put in serious effort to avoid being overcharged. As I already had coverage for damage I might do to a rental vehicle, I only needed third-party liability coverage. The employee insisted that I needed to purchase additional optional coverage for third-party liability. He was really pushing for me to purchase all the optional coverages, but he couldn't actually explain to me what I was in the optional packages (lol!). So he called his manager and confirmed one package I needed for third party liability.... Later, I read more information on Avis.ca and realized I had been given incorrect information. I called back this rental spot and the employee said he would look into it and call me back. Two days later, I called again because I never heard back. Turns out, the employee had looked into it and confirmed that he gave me the wrong information, but had no explanation for why he failed to call me back and let me know. After a bit of a dispute, I managed to get the original charges removed because they were purchased under false pretenses. People make mistakes and I understand that. But when the mistake is discovered, if you try to hide it from the customer in order to overcharge them for a service they never wanted, that is poor customer service.

Very disappoint, trying to set up a car rental I call and leave a message no call back. Decided to call back on my own twice and suddenly they no longer have a voicemail.. saying it has not been activated.. even the voice automated system was disconnected. Very shady. At this point I would urge people to stay away. If you cant get any service when your trying to give this company your hard earned money, imagine the trouble of you needed to make an enquiry or an emergency call to them durring the rental period. I'm going to contact authorities in my city to report these abhorrent business practices. Minus -5 stars. Shamefully.

Wow. Looks like I'm gonna be the only one with some positive feedback. So be it... I booked my car with Discount, but they failed to deliver and left me with 0 options. Had to drive to Pearson in 2h. Based on reviews wasn't convinced to call, but I had no choice. Girl that picked up was very helpful, gave me couple options (I use corporate discount) and told me car will be ready for pickup. I got there in less than an hour and sure enough it was. SUPERB! Girl was professional and following all safety protocols. Well done!

horrible experience there!! avoid it and go at Enterprise Sudbury or Hertz instead. little context: the guys attending are kind but they should work instead for Police or Inmmigration Canada as they decided that my International Driver Liccense wasnt valid, whereas I'm Canadian but residing in South Am. for work reason. Incredible to see that all administration recognize such document except Avis Sudbury. Conclusion: I've been to Enterprise and.... it worked!
