My dear friend has been a residence at Falconbrisge for almost 3 years. The staff go out of their way to making sure she is comfortable. The care and affection I have seen them giving her warms my heart. I do realize the building is old but it doesn't take anything away from the care they receive. Thank you for caring.

Does not deserve this one star. This facility is under a deep investigation for years of negligence, and abusive treatment to our loved ones. The lazy staff/nurses give strong sedation to every resident for easy overnight shifts; which they are responsible for numerous deaths that have occurred late in the evenings. They discriminate seniors with the assumption of unawareness. My father would still be alive today if they did not neglect and euthanized him.

My mother was at this home for a little lest than two years. While there were some good staff members that worked there, the home had a significant number of employees who were complancent in not doing their jobs properly. My mother's Care Plan was rarely followed and reported back to the Administrator and Director of Care on three separate occasions. Each time I was promised they'd rectify the issue. One of the nurses actually argued with my mother about what her Care Plan was, even though he had not actually read it. It was another nurse who had to pull up the Care Plan and point out to the other nurse arguing with my mother that she was correct. Some PSW staff would routinely assume that my mother was a dementia patient, to the point that I had to tell the PSW myself that she wasn't there for dementia, and then she scurried off not to be seen again. Dementia patients are mixed with other patients and are not often monitored. They are let to go into other rooms. Ribbons on magnets that were placed on the metal door frames to keep some of the more severe dementia patients out of rooms were rarely returned to block these patients because they were an "inconvenience" to staff. I've witnessed staff tell temp staff that if a patient doesn't eat at supper time, they don't eat at all. Some staff failed to do their tasks associated with my mother's illness and either my mother, my sister, or I had to continuously monitor what the home was doing or not doing to ensure my mother was receiving the care she was supposed to be receiving. When my mother felt she had a UTI, she told one of the RPNs there, and they muttered something about "protocol" but ignored the issue, more than once. A month later my mother was admitted to HSN where she passed away due to complications with her lung disease, and the doctors at the hospital had discovered she was pre-septic because of a UTI. The Home's Administrator and Director of Care completed an investigation which was not performed to standard as they didn't accept any of our evidence showing the culpability of their staff, and provided information about my mother's medical file that was contradictory to what I was told by the hospital regarding her health just prior to her death. Afterwards they began citing portions of varying laws under the Privacy Act, and Executorship that they were unfamiliar with and incorrect about. This home has several infractions showing that they do not properly follow Care Plans, and has a doctor on staff who was found guilty of not keeping medical notes in 2015. Given the misinformation between what the on staff doctor claimed and what the hospital gave me, it seems this may still be an issue.
