★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best donairs in the city hands down , very good price for a meal that fills you up more then once and taste even better the next day after it’s sat in the fridge over night . I’m from east coast Canada so I grew up eating Donairs my whole life and the best ones are made back there “ the Halifax donair “which has a garlic sweet sauce instead of a Tzatziki sauce like an original Greek style donair . If they added a sweet sauce too there menu hands down it would be the best I’ve had since being on the west coast of Canada . I hope they read this review and take that into consideration. It’s actually a very easy sauce to make from what I’m told , if they took that risk I think the reward would pay off 10 fold . Not slot of restaurants or fast food places offer the Halifax style donair and I’m sure there lots of Maritimer’s that would agree . ?????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The donairs are beyond amazing. Humongous, filling, delicious. The only downside would be not being able to finish it in one meal, because the lettuce and tomatoes don't really hold up in the fridge for leftovers. Consider sharing, or just... not eating anything else that day.
The SAUCE though. The SAUCE. I can't say it's donair sauce or tzatziki or whatever they want to call it because every time I've gotten a donair somewhere else it has tasted different so if you're looking for some kind of authentic Halifax donair or whatever I can't imagine this is it, but whatever the hell it is it is AMAZING. This leads me to believe that authentic ones are just wrong. This sauce is better. I would buy a tub of it and just dip things in it all day if I could.
Honestly they could throw out the rest of the menu and I'd be happy. It all, sadly, pales in comparison to the donairs, which is why I can only give it a 4. If this was a donair-only place it'd get like, a 10 out of 5, believe me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ INSANELY DELICIOUS ? Me and my friend split one of the Donairs and it stuffed us both. The meat is spectacularly tender and perfectly spiced. Well done Athena's. Bravo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like the donairs; highly recommended. Sadly I don't get them much anymore because of their hours. I live an hour away and use to take evening drives to get them from time to time, but they've since changed their hours and close super early offering a very short window of time between opening and closing. They close when most people are just starting to want to order food.
Another thing to mention is the service - or the lack there of. They are often very unfriendly and unwelcoming. You are usually a super huge inconvenience if you want to bother them to order some food or something. Huge downfall of this place. Service is the worst ever.
However, if you can get past being ignored, treated rudely and ordering from a place that rarely answers the phone, the food here is really, really good. Very delicious and better flavors then most other places you will visit. Very high rating on quality of product.
(Food=4 to 5 stars / service and convenience = 1 star)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hugeeee portions! Amazing donair sub, great spice on the meat. They put the sauce separate when you order takeout so it doesn't get soggy which is very much appreciated. I was full after eating only half!
