Astra Fertility Clinic

If I could give a zero I would. I have been through their clinic twice, once 16 years ago and for the last two years. The difference is night and day. The first time I had no real complaints, I was not blown away but my experience meet my expectation. The last two years have been a nightmare. This is the first time I have every written a bad review but I just feel people should have all the information before making a important decision on a fertility clinic. I have been a VP of marketing at two fortune 500 companies and had large staffs before. I have never seen a company culture so rife with blame and lack of accountability, everyone else and the customer is the problem. It seems to have infected the staff from the office manager who is impossible to get a hold of (I suspect the staff make it hard to get to her on purpose) right down to the person who answers the phone. They have two floors as each floor has a specific purpose. Each floor blames the other and neither seem to know what is going on - total confusion and chaos, from booking appointments to paying bills they are so disorganized that three times they tried to charge me and my wife for services we already paid for. It got so bad I had to have my wife carry the receipts with her to show the receptionist. We have to pay out of pocket because my wife is an immigrant and not on OHIP yet so when Covid hit we decided to just wait a year to save money and resume treatment. We called in to get the prescription and the reception desk told us we had to do everything all over again because they no longer consider us clients, then she basically hung up on us while we were trying to explain. They are consistently rude, consistently passing the buck, consistently disorganized, consistently blaming each other. It is fascinating to me when a company or organization goes rotten how it infects everyone in the organization. When it gets that bad you know it starts at the top. My advice is unless the clinic fires the entire management team and replaces 90% of all staff I would avoid this clinic at all cost. ROTTEN TO THE CORE!!!

If I could give this place a 0 I would... they should just tell people they are not excepting new patients. Receptionist is extremely rude and unprofessional which turned me off from that office before even going to an appointment. I told receptionist I no longer needed an appointment because I was planning an abortion & she called my doctor office to tell them and got mad that they didn’t inform her. Every appointment I make is for a month in advance... I told receptionist I’ll have to see another OB because of their lack of availability and she argued with me over the phone and said it was my schedule that wasn’t flexible. DONT GO HERE .!!!!

I would give this clinic 0 stars if I could. Horrible doctor and nurses. The only people who seem to be somewhat trained is front desk. They booked me in on a holiday when the clinic was closed, tried forcing me to do a treatment plan I did not need, "forgot" to send my paperwork to my family doctor after requesting multiple times, Dr. Henry Cheng is NEVER available to answer any questions or address your concerns. On my 6th week I got discharged and was told I can reach out until my 13th week should I need a doctor or have any questions or concern. I called in a few days later to request an ultrasound after experiencing severe abdominal pain and the nurse proceeds to tell me that she needs to ask Dr. Cheng if its necessary because my last scan was "normal". It is necessary! I am the patient. If I didn't think its necessary I wouldn't be concerned or be calling in nor would I be visiting a fertility clinic if everything was "normal". After going back and forth about how worried I am the nurse very rudely proceeds to tell me "then you should go to the hospital if you are so worried". What services did I pay for exactly if my ultrasounds are now to be dealt with by hospitals?? This is the last place anyone should consider if you're looking into fertility clinics. They have no idea what they are doing and will only snatch your money and swipe your card while not even doing the bare minimum for you.

I go to the Mississauga clinic and I have nothing but the best to say about everyone here. The reception, nurses, blood work staff they are all amazing. If you leave a voicemail they call you back within 24 hours. You email them they respond within an hour or 2. It is just amazing how organized they are with their booking and payment systems. They make you feel loved and appreciated. The thoroughness of Dr M and his staff is amazing

The secretary for Dr. Amanda Michael was very rude at the Brampton location. I was following up to an appointment but didn't allow me to speak and got upset with my inquiry and hung up on my face. This is my third pregnancy, never had these issues before with my first 2 with this clinic and other reception staff but this is my first time with this woman and I was quite disappointed.

Been trying to get pregnant for many years now, but I've only been with Astra for less than 2 years. 1 failed IUI and 1 failed IVF. But I am happy that I was referred to this clinic, as I have a wonderful experience with them. I feel that that I have the whole team behind me, cheering for me and working with me. Dr. M, nurses, techs and front desks are always welcoming and warm. They were never late in terms of communicating with me, and always on top on what is need to be done. I understand that no clinic can guarantee my pregnancy...not even doctors. But having people trying their very best to help me and work with me is more than enough. Baby dust to all of us!

After 4 years of infertility and 1 miscarriage I was referred to Astra Fertility in January 2021, everyone was so polite and efficient from day one. All my appointments, test blood work and even surgery was done in a prompt manner, always answering all my questions and making me feel safe and comfortable. Dr. Michael is the best surgeon, empathetic, knowledgeable and even funny! After my surgery in April I was able to conceive naturally in July and is definitely thanks to Astra Fertility Clinic and all the staff! Thank you all!

Dr. Michael and his entire staff are wonderful people. I would recommend his clinic to any one. He is honest and very helpful about his fertility approach. Make the time, spend the money and invest. Be patient and it would happen. PUSH- pray, until, something, happens. The short receptionist upstairs I call her the busy lady - she is very nice- the ultra sound lady that dresses in her Doctor coat is extremely wonderful. I am an attorney at law and I fully endorse this clinic. My husband who is also a lawyer loves DR. Michael's approach. I remembered the morning I needed to attend a murder trail and my busy body receptionist assisted me and fitted me in . God bless them all.
