A	Ajen B on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely one of the best stays I've ever had. A truly magical experience. Location, staff, food, rooms, ALL perfect! I'd make a recommendation if I could think of something to improve on, but I can't- they've been doing this so long that they've literally thought of everything. There's a lot going on behind the scenes but you'd never know because the staff is so good at not intruding in your experience. Stay for as long as you can and soak it all up. Not many get to enjoy this gem! A few small points to help: They have plenty of board games, card games, and toys, so if you have kids, no need to load your bag down with stuff to keep them busy. The wine and beer selection is pretty good. High-end wines and good local craft brews. No hard stuff; you'll have to bring that yourself. Wake up early one of the mornings to catch the sunrise. It's worth it. They have power outlets in the lodge to charge a device or two. I wouldn't sit with a laptop plugged in though. Go hang out in the living room area. The people who come are usually really cool to talk to. After breakfast, they put out freshly baked bread, cold cuts of meats, cheeses, and spreads for you to make sandwiches for lunch while you're out hiking. Also, freshly baked cookies, bars, and nuts. Don't bring a water filter. They have filtered water that is really good. Bring a good camera with a good, wide lens. You'll need it!

We went on a couple of guided hikes, to areas we never would have found on our own. The shower facilities are amazing, and the lodge atmosphere is very social, and we met a lot of incredible people! Would definitely go again

Hands down one of the most beautiful places to stay- get one of the historic cabins with a view of Mount Assiniboine from your own deck or window! Great food, incredible staff and a perfect place to snowshoe, cross country or alpine tour! One of the best for a first timer to experience ski touring as they have Association of CAnadian Mountain Guide certified staff on hand to take you for a ski tour.

With at least three guides at their disposal, the lodge can accommodate both, and also people wanting to do less and more of their day. The Assiniboine Park offers both gentle and steep slopes, and fantastic scenery. Food is varied and very good, with full breakfast and three course dinner - you make your own sandwiches to bring out for lunch. Rooms in the main lodge can get a bit cold in the night, but that's no problem as long as one stays beneath the soft and warm duvets. Overall excellent quality without being at all posh.

The lodge has catered to campers around them to go for tea, and that's how I first experienced the lodge. I was going to take my wife for her 50th birthday, but unfortunately cold weather and other unlucky factors stopped our trip. Back country lodges like this are a national treasure. Hopefully they are open for the summer.

In the morning the staff supply you with hot water and a bunny Some of the campers this place invites are a little strange, always staring at you from the bushes, silently. A little creepy if you ask me. Did not get eaten by a grizzly, he didn’t even try. I’ve been going to the gym and I think he could tell. Most importantly, do not put your toilet paper in the lodge toilets.
