I have to say that I had not the greatest experience at appelts regent today. My husband and I have been loyal Appelts customers since the day we walked in and purchased our engagement ring and wedding bands in 2012. When we purchased I was given the rock solid diamond guarantee. Today I walked in to get my rings resized and plated and was told that my warranty was void because I hadn't been coming in every 6 months to have it checked. I hadn't been wearing my rings because they were too small. Due to the pandemic and me working in healthcare, I just hadn't even thought about my rings. More so because I had them tucked safely in a safe. The young lady that assisted me told me that my rings looked like they were in great shape. I said yes because I havent been wearing them. I was told that i would have to pay 350.00 to get the rings done because I no longer had the guarantee. The young lady that helped me wasn't sure if i coud get the guarantee back. I was upset with this because we have been very loyal appelts customers. We not only purchased engagement ring, wedding bands but bridesmaid gifts, and a gift of a gold cross for my father inlaw to wear durring his last days so he could pass it down to our daughter. Appelts has been part of so many moments in our lives. We also bought numerous little gifts here and there through the years. Today's experience was not a pleasant one. This should serve as a warning.. if you can't make it in.. no matter what reasons to get your ring checked... THEY WILL VOID the rock solid diamond guarantee. Even if your rings are in excellent condition. In the end I paid the 350.00 which was a surprise cost.. and well.. there went part of my Christmas shopping. I was upset about not having the guarantee and the young lady made a phone call to her manager in order to give me back the guarantee. I have to say.. my experience has made me rethink Appelts. I got the diamond guarantee back, but not without a struggle. They expected me to pay the 350 and not give me back the guarantee. I wouldnt pay the 350 until I was given the guarantee back. The only positive experience for me was that the jeweler was fast. But I couldn't finish my Christmas shopping because of this surprise cost. Very upset about it. So much for lifetime guarantee... you are held by cuffs to getting it checked regularly. If you dont... be prepared to pay.

We always have great service at Appelt’s Regent. Today I picked up my special order, daughters pride ring for my youngest daughters Sweet 16th birthday. Service was prompt, both when we went to choose it & picked it up today. Always friendly & they always acknowledge us even if we need to wait a few minutes. No pressure shopping & I never feel rushed when I ask so many questions I usually have. Highly recommend shopping at Appelt’s Regent!

I am writing this review because my experience is not sitting right with me. My overall first experience with my engagement ring was fantastic. I was so excited to take home my ring and loved it very much. I had a small stone that fell out and took it back for repair using their diamond guarantee. The stone they replaced it with wasn’t an exact match, but having a toddler at home and having covid hit I left it. Then I lost another small diamond off the band, and took it back again for repair. The sales associate confirmed my comment on the other repair not being quite right, so both issues were going to be addressed. After picking up my ring again, I thought the repair was correct since they have those nice lights that make the diamonds sparkle. I also had my three year old with me which made it hard to really examine the ring in person before taking it home. As soon as I got home in different light, the most recent diamond that was replaced was sitting wrong, and looked dark. In some light it almost looked like it was missing still. Once again I brought the ring back to be fixed. I was called back to pick it up and told it was repaired properly. This time going to get it I closely examined it in person at the store, and it was still crooked and not sitting right. I pointed it out to the sales person and they showed it to someone else there too, and told me that the ring needed to be sent back to the manufacturer to be fixed properly. So now I’ve made several trips, and I am feeling like I was just being made to assume I wouldn’t notice the repair wasn’t done properly. We were really excited to buy our wedding bands here, and now I am not so sure. I am not a diamond expert, but if the repair clearly wasn’t fixed and I noticed it, I don’t get why my ring was being passed off as fixed in hopes I wouldn’t notice, instead of just being sent back to the manufacturer in the first place. The staff are very friendly and I wanted this to be a really positive experience, but it’s still not sitting right with me so I decided to write this review while I am without my ring and hoping that this is the last and final time I have to wait to get my ring back and have it look the same as when I purchased it.

I've had some great buying experiences, but not all have been good. Kate is awesome, and their goldsmith does fantastic work. Overall, the good outweighs the bad.
