★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice little forest close to the residential area. Some areas are off limits because they are trying to plant more trees or maybe preserving something there. For a short hiking it's good enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The forest is a great place to get out and enjoy some nature right in our city. Unfortunately the board walks, all except the new one at Lacey's pond have rotted and come apart this summer with no one to maintain them. Hopefully these will be better taken care of in the spring. The wildlife in Altona forest is always enjoyable to catch a glimpse of.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decent trails but not much to look at. The forest is surrounded by homes along the perimeter edge. Not a bad place for a quick bike ride or hike. In the winter it's very icy. Right now it's very muddy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely network of urban trails. Easy walk with multiple parking and access points. Lacey's pond is definitely a highlight. Can't wait be back in the spring ?note that certain parts of the trail are closed ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little forest for a mini hike. I have gone through in under 30 minutes or you can really wander around and spend an hour or even two. Love this little space! Some of the wooden pathways can use a little love, but the trails that are open all year are well maintained.
