★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The stylist changed the shape of my hairstyle and created unbalanced layers that I will have to grow out. Emphasis seems to be placed on the client look good walking out the door with no consideration for how that client is going to manage their hair going forward I went from low maintenance to high maintenance styling each morning (and few 'good hair days'. Really? 10 minutes of cutting created way too much grief. I won't be going back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just wanted to warn everyone of the new stylist Alison Fisher. Alison used to own Shear Splendor Hair Boutique & Spa (please feel free to look up this shut down business' reviews for ample stories like mine). Alison told everyone on her Facebook page of a great "one time offer" for a haircut that needed to be paid for in advance. Many people took her up on her offer and transferred a minimum of 80$ to her, only to find that when they came to make an appointment in the next few days she had packed up her shop and left. No warnings, no refunds. When I finally got a hold of Alison and explained to her that I am a poor student that needed a refund for a service I never received, she had me meet her at a dark gas station at about 10pm at night. She never showed up. The following few days I got rude phonecalls from her boyfriend and she would speak horrendously to my mother and father (who she told me were not allowed to ever accompany me to get my money) over the phone when they would politely just ask for my money back. I am not the only victim of Alison and just wanted to warn that she is a fraud and a scam artists- just check out her reviews (she deletes any on her personal controlled accounts) but you can find them on google/yelp/groupon etc. I still have yet to see my money, and neither have my friends who fell for the same scam. Don't get me wrong; this is not a reflection of Zennkai salon- just wanted to warn everyone of Alison Fisher to avoid this happening to anyone else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Haircut not so good, asked for proper hair thinning as my hair is super thick, and was very disappointed of next day results. Hairdresser asked if I want my hair straighten and I said no thanks, but she did it anyway, acting like I was in for a treat, my guess was to hide the fact that my hair was not thinned out properly, and that it would do thick again next day after wash. I was also told if my hair was still needing thinning after she styled it, she would cut some more but with the straight iron you can not tell if its still too thick, so I didn't know till next day, canceled my next appointment for hair dye for this reason, they lost a future customer for this bad mistake, I paid for it again to go somewhere else to get thinned out. I also was very disappointed with hair wash, not done to compare with other salons that charge this much, no proper massage.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've had my hair cut twice in the last year here (mostly because I'm a mom of 3 kids and don't get high maintenance hair cuts, or regular trims) and I found them very helpful and pleasing! They do a wonderful scalp massage while washing your hair, and they have fit me in on really short notice (because: kids). Their receptionist is also really kind!
