OMG folks. What out for the fake job postings - there are many. I especially noticed a huge number of fraudulent jobs advertised for Surrey. The job descriptions look legitimate enough listing employer website/telephone number but use a "public" email address like gmail, yahoo and hotmail. Watch out for fake websites too - be sure to do your research. I'm not impressed with WorkBC website. It's just NOT user friendly. It's a challenge to navigate, too much clicking here and there, the advanced search feature has issues especially when trying to search a string of related job postings from past days. Their staff are rude and slow to respond - typical BS bureaucracy. The contracted 3rd party groups hired to deliver on services are often lacking in professional knowledge and useful resources. They all seem to just piggy back off each other and regurgitate the same old information; much of it dated, expired or useless. CAN THE TEAMS WORKING IN THESE ORGANIZATIONS THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, QUIT BEING SHADOW GOVERNMENT AGENCIES puckering up to your funding sources' every whim so that you can get next years' budget approved. Start thinking about how to better support job seekers. Quit dressing up program offerings by changing the name every few years - THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME. The learning curve that goes into reeducating your teams takes a ridiculously long time. Beef up your workshops and make sure you hire proper staff to deliver - people who know about recent technological tools & resources available!

The Work BC office at Broadway and Arbutus is the worst.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME THERE. All Work BC is all about employment for them. They post mostly low paying jobs, that anyone with a computer could apply for and would probably be hired for. THIS IS JUST A PLACE WHERE EMPLOYERS WHO CANNOT GET OR RETAIN GOOD HELP GO TO HIRE DESPERATE PEOPLE. Svetlana is the only good worker this place has. I would be curious to have WORK BC publish their success rates of people keeping their jobs beyond 3 months. Govt. really needs to review all the staff and find what they are NOT getting for the money spent. There are many better places that will craft a resume for you ,lend you a computer and help with anything you need. ALL ARE FREE,just look them up and avoid the attitude you will get with this Org. They cannot even keep appointments and are always late and make you wait. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Absolutely blown away at the compassion and support I felt through each individual I spoke to. Thank you for helping me feel positive and excited about the next steps I will be taking towards my future. I am soo grateful this is an option for assistance and I took the time to ask for it. Much appreciation and gratitude ?

The most frustrating experience I've been through in a long time. After going through all the work to get all the appropriate paperwork for a tool purchase. They dragged their feet for over a month then told me I would qualify because to much time has passed. What a sham, nothing but incipient baffons working there.

WorkBC at this location ,110 East 3rd, I exprinces trible services with this organization. I hope government closed them because I noticed they not really helping anyone and they manipulate the work place. Looks like people working there doing Thier own private work than doing Thier job . I am writing this review because few times observed thier attitude when some needs help from this center. Why government should spent tax payer money for this types of organization!!

Very grateful for two girls that confronted me with communication and saved my mental state and nothing else. We did find a job eventually though not one I hoped for… Grateful for mentioned things although I am not grateful for grey hair, grey beard. Can’t remember the name of the gentleman but he shouldn’t be working there. Some other Canadian with wish for good work should step in ??‍♂️ It’s unforgettable and unforgiving that someone like him, wherever I saw him like in the middle of MPHS and Indigenous event about really important things between two facilitators and all my colleagues, to bad mouth the organization where he works, city….etc! Who is that guy to do that? Work BC is important organization in this city and deserves to have a strong force working there so they can do their best in beautiful province of BC. See you soon ;)

Very grateful for all the help and resources Lindsay provided me when I was deep in my job search. She was so patient, kind, understanding, and generous with her time. Gave me a lot of interview tips, reviewed my resume, and gave career advice. She also put me in touch with people for informational interviews. She even checked in with me afterwards when I was 3 months into my new job. I can't say enough good things about her. I also had really positive interactions with Maria who also reviewed my resume. Thank you so much Lindsay, Maria, and Work BC!
