Although rustic looking this place was a good spot to camp. I can’t comment on the bathrooms as we have a self contained unit but the staff were all nice and the grounds reasonably clean but some industrial looking areas around the boat storage. Lots of full time/ seasonal campers around but for the most part their sites looked well maintained. You can’t complain about camping on the lake and this place is a short drive to Kaslo and about 40 minutes to Nelson. Super close to Cody Caves and ainsworth hot springs which are both great activities. JB’s also had good pub style food. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Got take out form here but took a few moments to enjoy their location. Right beside the creek with beautiful view and a friendly atmosphere. Food was above par for a pub. Shrimp cooked properly and not rubbery.

We booked months in advance and given a site number. About a week before leaving we called and asked if we could have an extra day and we were told we were erased from the books. They told us someone was given our site so of course we were upset. They said they would try and accommodate us. They called us back and we said that it was not fair because we had that site booked first. They called us back after talking with the owner and said we had our site back. Well we arrive and we’re told we had a different site but a better one by the lake. We were fine with it so we started our camping. About 6 days before we were to leave we called and asked if there were a few more days at the e site we were at but we instead were told that we had to leave the next day! We were stunned! We still had 5 more days booked we said! So this is what they did! They gave our site to a “member” and the site they gave us apparently didn’t have enough days for our trip! I will NEVER camp here again. I am totally disappointed and they ruined our holidays. They didn’t care one bit about that. The only thing is they didn’t charge us for our 5 days that we had there. We are really disappointed as we have been going there now for 4 years but this was the last year.

We stayed in the motel for 4 nights. Clean room with a great view. Don’t let the fact that there is no A/C keep you from visiting. Despite day temperatures of 30 degrees, evenings were cool with a nice breeze. Great beach, nice, friendly people running the resort! Our fridge stopped working (no fault of the resort) but the owners did what they could to make things right!

Very nice campground. Well managed & clean. Camped in November so enjoyed peace and tranquility - expect the summer months would be very busy. Lovely views and beachfront sites are amazing. Showers, laundry, restaurant & pub onsite. 5 minutes from Ainsworth Hotsprings. Perfect location to explore the beautiful valley from.

Had a Sunday dinner at JB’s Pub. Although the menu is not extensive or gourmet, the food is well prepared using fresh ingredients rather than the usual Sysco fare. Fresh steamed veggies and a baked spud accompanied my Salisbury steak. The Caesar salad was again, fresh with a house made dressing. The specialty is fish and chips and there’s usually halibut if you ask. But the best thing, aside from the awesome service, is that the prices are still mid-‘90s. Great place for home cooked, healthy and affordable dinner for the whole crew.

Booked a boat with them giving all the payment info, everything was confirmed . Later in the day I got a call saying they gave the boat to someone else as the manager booked the boat at the same time I made the reservation. Now they would not give me the boat. So I asked her why is that so, are they canceling my reservation because the other reservation was made my the “Manager“ and mine was made just by a staff and that this was highly unprofessional of them. On further inquiry they told that the real reason is that their other boat broke down and they had to give the one I booked to the other person. I understand that things can go wrong but why lie about things. I asked to talk to the manager they said that Terry would call. They call me the next day evening when I was busy with something. When I returned the call the owner replied the call and said I shouldn’t be calling on this number to begin with. When I told her that what had happened to me she got very defensive and said that she tried to call me and I wasn’t available. I had a booking for a certain day and you cancel it and then call me some other time and expect me to take your services. I’m sorry but it doesn’t work that way. I really expected to have a better experience but after this one I would not recommend this place. However I would like to commend Ashley who was the one person who was very understanding and apologized for what had happened. Looked like she couldn’t have done anything to help me as the decision had already been made by her superiors.
