Really love the lake and location. The new campground caretaker is super unprofessional and miserable. Brought out the worst in everyone.

Hosts are fantastic, fishing is great. It’s worth the journey.

Awesome campground and lake. However, new caretakers are awful. So rude, looking for a fight all the time. Ruined camping experience, we will have to find another lake to enjoy!

I thought the location of the campsite and the lake itself were absolutely amazing. It was beautiful, isolated and the perfect getaway. However the caretakers of the site were absolutely horrific. The first words out of their mouths: β€œI am here to enforce the rules. We’re all about bylaws, rules, and regulations.” ( We hadn’t parked yet, so it seemed unlikely we had already made an infraction of the rules 7 seconds upon arrival). They were extremely unprofessional, getting upset at us about what was happening in campsites near to us because they assumed we were together without even bothering to confirm or check. In addition to that she felt it was necessary to threaten to have us evicted and to call in enforcement in the middle of the night if necessary, β€œregardless if we had kids or not because she’s dealt with every kind of person and it’s not time to be nice to people”. Which- would have made more sense if we were a loud rowdy bunch of kids partying through the night- we are a family of 6 with four children under five- so our wild nights ended pretty early, and we typically didn’t allow the kids outside until 8 am… Which I now know is well within her rules because she brought our group pamphlets in which she highlighted areas. Even if she hadn’t made it abundantly clear we were not welcome, I would never go back. This was our first year with a trailer and camping around the Lakeland. We’ve stayed at many other MD parks and have had nothing but the best experiences. At first we thought because we were new that we are also are new to the camping etiquette and had maybe unintentionally been being disruptive but no- we have paid close attention or asked questions if necessary so we enjoy ourselves and don’t bother those around us. At other MD parks I’ve had the caretakers come introduce themselves, show us around, one even brought my kiddo a t shirt. This lady and her husband however will drive business away from this site. I have spoken to all my friends and family with my recommendation to avoid this place at all costs, and figured I would post here as well. We only came in from Bonnyville, but I would have been devastated had we travelled 6-7 hours to camp and been treated that way from the ACTUAL minute we arrived. I know it must be a lot of work to run and maintain the park so I appreciate it can be stressful however her behaviour was so, so off putting. It was not warranted and she lacks even the most basic customer service skills. She felt it important to tell us she’d ran parks all over the place for the last forty years, and I truly cannot believe after that amount of time dealing with the public she hasn’t learned how to interact with people. Maybe it’s time to retire. So be warned. If you made it through all that, 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Will never ever go back unless they change the attendants.

I have been camping here for over 35 years with my family - favourite lake of all! No amenities but always a great time, great weather, great camping sites! However this year, my annual vacation was very tense and uncomfortable due to the new caretaker, Rose Herbert. She is not friendly; is arrogant, threatening and confrontational. Sad to say, it was a terrible camping experience this year.

One of the nicest lakes I have been to in ab. Friendly camp hosts nice treed sites. If you come in July pick your fill of wild raspberries, Saskatoons and goose berries. The fishing is good and the bottom is nice hard sand for the kids.

Beautiful, well maintained camp grounds! There is no water, or power and cell signal is spotty but to us this is a feature! There are only 60 camp sites with lots of space to park an RV. The lake is huge and the fishing is great! Can't keep any pike this year but there's plenty of walleye and maybe a few perch if you find the right spots.

Beautiful well maintained camp grounds. Marshal and Pat do an amazing job of keeping the place in tip top shape. If you're looking for a quiet place away from all the hustle and bustle of regular life, this is the place! Also fishing is amazing! Lots of pike and walleye out there.
