As a first time visitor from Alberta this summer I've got to say this is a pretty magical place. My neck was sore from staring up in delight at the incredibly tall trees -- upwards of 90 meters/300 feet. Even the deadfall on the sides of the camp sites is awe inspiring in it's size. We never had any issues with being told to be quiet or hearing other people being noisy but we did stay out fairly late playing dice games by lantern light. There was a campfire ban on of course but you were allowed to use propane firepits which I noticed they would rent you if you didn't come prepared. I would recommend booking a spot as far away from the sanidump area as possible as there was a noticeable smell when we walked by and it is located in kind of a strange central spot. You must check out the waterfall swimming area located down a huge set of stairs on the north side of the campground. The Goldstream river trail was cool too but had some tough spots if you have kids or limited mobility.Very coldwater but it was welcomed on the days the temp was in the high 20s. There are plenty of outhouses with flush toilets (and some without) and a centrally located shower house. The showers weren't very clean and the water temp was shaky but we may save hit them at the wrong time, wrong day etc. Not going to make a blanket judgement based on the 3 days we were there. Definitely prebook a spot and go and enjoy this majestic forest.

For a big camping it's quite okay. Unfortunately the showers where cold. You're better off hiking down to the waterfall in the summer than taking a shower. It's less cold and the sight is beautiful. It has a lot of hiking trails nearby. And is situated amid giant 650 year old trees. Most sites are reservation only, so making a reservation is not a bad plan.

I just arrived here. Traveling from Ontario. First time in my life I witnessed a person overdosed in a bathroom directly across from my campsite. Wow!!!? Not the parks fault. But holy cow. Think I will be leaving tomorrow

A peaceful place - packed with activities Pros - clean - flush toilet and shower - good privacy - close to many trails and waterfalls - close to Resturants and services - bike skills trail for kids - playground - theatre Cons - fills up quickly - needs an hours drive from the ferry terminal - rangers pay more frequent visits ( could be pro for some )

Beautiful natural setting. In the winter season there are very few campsites open; the pit toilets, showers, and all other facilities (such as they are) are also off/closed. However, if you are self-contained, the park itself is magnificent! Even though the campsites are closed, you can hike all over the trails. Watch out for ice and snow on the road that leads into the park as it is steep and usually in shade.

Fantastic spot, really love the privacy seeing as the campsites are spread out. There are great trails, numerous waterfalls, helpful staff and clean facilities.

We had a great time here! It was actually a last-minute booking for us since we initially wanted to book at the Sooke Pothole campground but it was full. We managed to book a place right next to the playground so the kids were obviously happy. There were even bike tracks for them (next time we’ll definitely bring their bikes ? Washrooms were super clean which for some reason I didnt really expect. I recommend doing at least 2 nights here ? very well organized and maintained ? We will definitely come back
