When booking, they advertised the pub which was closed once we arrived til December. We checked in later so driving back to town for food was not an option. Their wifi didn’t work. The satellite dish couldn’t get signal and when speaking with the front desk they explained its because of the snowfall but that there wasn’t enough snow for them to go clean it off...even though it wasn’t working due to snow. There weren’t board games or anything else to do so we paid $350 for a shower and a bed. Would have been better off staying in our van.
e	elizabeth Briggs on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Lodge is gorgeous! Inside and out. Friendly, welcoming staff. Beautifully decorated and extremely clean rooms. Main sitting area allows you to relax. Meditation music on in each room as you enter and the exterior atmosphere is surreal. Will be back again, as the price is perfect for what you are getting!!!

Some room has a hot tub and a balcony while my room has no bathtub, a small wooden stand as the only table in the bathroom, a tv that does not face any bed or chairs, and mosquitos biting me as soon as I stepped inside. I recommend checkin early as there's no staff after 8. Personally I will not come back especially with how remote it is located.
v	vicki hughes on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had our wedding here June 2017. We had exclusive use of the lodge for the weekend. Working with the lodge was a breeze-they listened to what we wanted and delivered 100%. They were very relaxed and the whole wedding experience was stress free. The staff were amazing, very helpful and accommodating (brought our luggage in, and laundered our sheets when our toddler puked everywhere). They had cribs set up in all of the very spacious rooms for those who needed them. For the ceremony they set up everything and took down everything at the reception. The food served (we requested fancy burgers and bbq style sides) was THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD! We weren't a quiet group, but the building was very well insulated and even though we were dancing until 3am, our family that went to bed earlier were sleeping soundly through our shenanigans. The food, both at Corks Restaurant and the Saloon at Winston was delicious. The pizza in particular at the saloon was awesome. We cannot say enough good things about this location-accessible yet quiet. We will not hesitate to stay here again on our future trips!

I left my gold ring behind while frantically checking out in the morning to continue on my road trip, and they graciously found it and offered to mail it to my new address in Alberta. Aside from my forgetfulness, my stay at the Winston was very relaxing after an intense 8 hour road trip in the 40 degree heat. The staff are super friendly, and the atmosphere was everything I could have asked for. Would definitely stay here again if I was passing through Golden, BC, and I would highly recommend it to anyone else!
R	Rebecca Ironside on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed here Aug 2021 and was extremely pleasantly surprised how phenomenal this place is. We were welcomed with our door open, spa music on and robes hung up on the door. Such a cozy little place to stay. We were actually sad we weren’t able to stay longer. They had a great selection of board games to play in the common area, outdoor games including badminton, volleyball and frisbee. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Also noted that the bed was the softest bed we had ever slept on. Best sleep we have ever had. Would 1000% recommend to everyone and will most definitely be back in the future! 12 out of 10 in our books :) thanks so much Winston Lodge!
S	Shammah Fiel Torpio on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Last September on our honeymoon, we didnt make it to our reservation due to the unforeseen closure of trans canada hwy 1 (we drove 2 hrs only to find out 30 mins away from the hotel the road was closed due to construction). We called the reception and notify that we are not able to check in and I’m glad they were able to understand and acknowledge our refund. About a week passed, the refund didn’t go through and I cant get a hold of the hotel due to the seasonal closure. I called them in late December for follow up when I remember that they were now open for the season - hoping they would still remember that I have a pending refund. I’m glad that the manager that I spoke to recalled my situation and process the refund right away. Despite the the time I waited, I just want to recognize how the manager dealt with us, she’s so nice and friendly and didn’t question our situation. For me, it was an amazing customer service. Looking forward to be back and experience a stay here one day!
