It's kind of like that old commercial "I liked the shaver so much, I bought the company!!". Well, we loved out first Westside pup so much , we had to get another one. Stephanie took lots of time (on multiple phone calls) to answer all our questions. And of course, in turn we were screened as potential buyers too. We were able to see the Mom (Raena) and Dad (Cash) beforehand so we could get an idea on what pups would look like, both dogs are absolutely beautiful. When our first pup, Lilly was a year old we decided to get one of her sisters and it was a great decision. Luna and Lilly have so much fun together and are a fantastic part of our family. If you want a quality German Shepherd from a reputable breeder, look no further!!

We couldn't be happier to have Koda join our family. It had been 2 years since we lost our Sheltie and decided it was time to get another dog. The big question - what breed? We knew we could not replace our sweet Sheltie, so the search began. After time, we decided on a German Shepherd. We started looking at the different Breeders around. We ultimately kept coming back to Westside. We wanted a good family dog and I believe that is exactly what we have with our Westside Puppy. Stephanie is very knowledgeable about the breed, answered all our questions promptly and is extremely easy to deal with. I have to admit, when she told me she would be picking my puppy for me I didn’t know what to think, but after dealing with Stephanie I was confident that she would choose the right pup for us and she did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived to pick up our puppy you could tell this place was special. Stephanie’s son was busy helping look after puppy while we were there. She never made us feel rushed and provided more than ample time for questions and time for us to get use to our new puppy. You can tell that our puppy had countless hours spent with her. Our puppy has now been with us for two weeks. She has adjusted extremely well with her new family. She is a very quick learner, has the sweetest personality and just an all round beautiful pup. We have a special love for the German Shepherd dog. They are a majestic, proud, intelligent and dignified animal. My father raised them and when I grew up I knew I wanted one for my family. We spent an enormous amount of time researching a breeder and knew we needed to be extremely judicious in whom we chose. We had a young, busy family and 2 rescue animals already in place so we wanted a breeder that would understand what we wanted and could provide a strong, healthy, well bred, intelligent pup with a good value proposition. We stumbled upon Westside German Shepherds and were captivated by the boys and girls in their "stable". The Westside Shepherds are stunning in all ways and all from established and successful lines. We reached out to Stephanie for more information. She was very responsive and eager to begin a discussion. I should note that responsiveness from breeders is not always a given so this was a good start. We began an email dialogue with her and over the course of the next few months spent hours by email and phone discussing plans for our pup and musing about everything from the German Shepherd Breed to politics to life in general. Stephanie was patient, respectful and we could tell she had a genuine love for this breed and her top priority was matching her pups with the right family. I knew right away that this wasn't a person trying to make money from a side hustle. Her dogs are her life and it shows. She is knowledgeable about the breed and more importantly her dogs. I remember one conversation where we spent almost 2 hours talking about her dogs personalities, how they related, behaved and the differences between them all. It didn't seem like work to Steph and I felt like she actually enjoyed these conversations. We knew we were in good hands and made the commitment to Westside after only a few interactions. We decided on a particular litter (fully interactive with Steph on this choice) and began the "waiting game" which was by far the most difficult part for us simply because we were so excited for our new addition. Happily Steph gave us a lot of updates on our pup's mom and how things were progressing. It was a lovely process and we felt so included. The day finally came when our mom gave birth and the updates continued as she and Steph took care of the precious new litter. We got closer and closer to the day when we would know our actual pup's identity and when that day came we were overwhelmed with joy. We picked up our new pup as soon as humanly possible and that experience too was very nice. There were no surprises for us as we truly knew how and where the pups were growing up and under what conditions. It's a calm, peaceful place where any animal would be delighted to grow up. Fast forward to today. Our Leo is 13 weeks old and already a big part of our family. He is an absolutely stunning looking male German Shepherd although I'm sure all dads say that about their pups. He is a sweet, bold and thoughtful pup with eyes that almost look human. He soaks up every new experience with wide eyed wonderment and seems to learn at an exponential pace. He has captured our hearts in a deep and profound way. Stephanie somehow managed to find us exactly who we needed. Leo has completed our family. I could write much more about how pleased we are with Westside German Shepherds. Our experience has been fantastic and culminated in having a superstar pup join our family. Getting a new dog is a serious and often daunting process and regrettably fraught with all kinds of issues. Our experience purchasing a German Shepherd from Westside German Shepherds exceeded expectations. Westside is a responsible breeder who is passionate about producing well-balanced, healthy pups. Westside is there for us even after we take our puppy home. Stephanie Doney (Steph) was great to deal with and answered all our questions professionally and quickly. Steph emailed us photos and updates after the pups were born so we were informed about their progress. We always looked forward to seeing new pictures of the puppies each week and hearing about our litter’s milestones – from their first attempts to crawl to their outdoor adventures around the farm. Steph and her family spend a lot of time, effort, and care socializing their pups before they go to their new homes. To help prepare families before they bring their puppy home, Steph emails families a guidebook containing her recommended food, toys, training school, etc. The fact our breeder took time to create a detailed guide shows the level of care that Westside provides families who choose one of their pups. Puppy pickups were carefully organized in advance and we were provided information on what to expect on pickup day and recommended toys/supplies to bring with us. Although some people prefer choosing their puppy, we trusted Steph to choose the pup that was right for us - and it has paid off immensely. The pup Steph selected for our family was the perfect fit. If you have concerns about the breeder choosing, rest assured Steph reviews each family’s profile (situation, needs, desired sex/temperament, etc.), spends hundreds of hours with each litter, and conducts temperament testing to ensure puppies/families are appropriately matched. Our pup adjusted very quickly and has the calm, gentle temperament we were hoping for. We have no regrets about getting our pup from Westside and look forward to many years of fun and companionship with our new family member.
