KINGFISHER RESORT - HOME - Kingfisherlodge.com

Welcome to Kingfisher Resort. Kingfisher is a small, quiet camp, located 165 miles north of International Falls Minnesota, in northwestern Ontario. We are a drive-in resort located just three hours north of International Falls. MN on Hwy 105, also known as the Red Lake Road.

Kingfisher Resort is located on Wabaskang Lake, near Perrault Falls and is considered by many avid fisherman to rank among the top lakes in the region. Wabaskang is unique in that it produces five major species of fish: Walleye, Northern, Small mouth Bass, Lake Trout and Jumbo Perch. We have also seen increasing numbers of Bluegill and Crappie taken from around the lake as well. As for walleye and northern, you will have to sample many lakes before you can top Wabaskang in term of sheer numbers and size. This lake has a reputation among pros and beginners alike to consistently produce large numbers of fish that range from average size to wall hangers. Much work has been done over the past fifteen years to improve spawning areas, cleaning feeder streams and limiting access. We consistently see the fish numbers and average size increasing each year.

We are starting our 20th season as new owners and are dedicated to customer satisfaction. Great fishing, an emphasis on customer service and satisfaction, and our beautiful Canadian weather has caused our repeat and referral guests list to continue to grow each year.

This was my first fishing trip to Canada and I was super pleased with how it turned out. The accommodations were small, but had everything you needed to make this trip a success. Things to pack: 1. Raid. Before you go out on the water, cover the inside of your boat in raid, let it dry, and then go out. This will keep any pesky flies dead when you're out fishing. 2. Sunscreen. I'm burnt, and mainly because I forgot to put it on. Dont be like me. 3. One of those mosquito/bug lights. One night we had a bunch of mosquitoes in our cabin and could have definitely used one of these. 4. A boatload of coffee. Wake up at 5 am, drink a gallon of coffee, fish, come home around 11, hang out and drink beers, nap, then pound more coffee, go out and fish from 6 to 10 PM. 5. A good hat and sunglasses. I really enjoyed the people here. The owners are super cool and the fish guy (Lester) is awesome. He'll help teach you how to properly fillet fish, or just watch in amazement because this guy is incredible. Go for a swim in the falls, fish a bunch, and have an awesome time.

I have been going to this camp for over 20 years. The fishing, even on a bad day, is generally better than a good day almost anywhere else. Gerry and Linda Moran are wonderful hosts and they bend over backwards to make sure their guests have an awesome time

The fishing and the service was amazing. We caught lots of huge Walleye, Pike and Perch and had a very fun time at Kingfishers. Jerry and his wife made me a cake for my birthday and I really recommend this resort.

Super friendly management. Super helpful and definitely go out of their way to help you and give you what you need to have a great trip. They supply you with a boat and plenty of info about the lake. The cabins are pretty today, if a little bare bones, but everything you might need that isn't there is accessible from surrounding stores or workarounds.

We stayed at Kingfisher resort September of 2015 and my dad and uncle have been going there since 2008. It is a nice resort with comfy clean cabins. They have nice boats. Jerry the owner and his wife are great! Lester who is the jack of all trades and cleans the fish is great! It is a great location to hit Lake Wabaskang, Keynote, etc. I'd highly recommend it. Oh did I mention the fishing is great up there?! Walleyes, Perch, and Northern are abundant. Most Walleyes come in 16-19". We caught a 22 and 24". Depending on the time of year, you can get 10-12" perch consistently. The Northern range from 16 snakes to 48" (the largest we've caught was 37").

We love their service here. Such nice owners Gerry and Linda. Lester the dock manager is first rate and shares his experience and gives valuable information to help you be successful on the water. Cabins are a little rustic but homey clean and have everything you need. It is a great place to stay for a real Canadian fishing experience.
