Uh. I have a few memories that are bad but oh man the good ones out weight the bad ones! This trail is a must if you even enjoy camping and the wilderness then doit! I've done it twice. You meet so many different people from all walks of life. Bring ten friends and make it a getaway. Legit 11/10

Incredible experience! We did the trail from North to South in late June and lucked out with sunny and warm days. Truly a trek of a lifetime.

What an incredible area! Home to Avatar Grove, Lonely Doug and much more. Surfing, camping, hiking, fishing, Renfrew has it all. Drive the Circle Route to Lake Cowichan or come up from Victoria it's a fantastic weekend getaway. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Did the hike in 1998, 2001 and 2004. Always in August. The fact my brother and I did the trail three times should tell you how much we enjoyed the experience at the Pacific Rim. Lots of mud, lots of roots and many ladders. But greatly rewarded with scenery and campfire atmosphere (we usually lucked out and were able to make fires). One of the coolest spots: Walbran Creek - it was never on the maps when we went there. But there's plenty of room and an outhouse. And the water is reFRESHing ? We always hiked North to South which is the only "right" way to hike it IMHO. It starts out easy on the first stretch, and then gets progressively tougher as you go along. But then you are used to your backpack and the weight lightens from day to day, as you sip away on your six-pack of Kokanee beer ? Don't forget to pack out your trash though! We plan to be back some day. Cheers from Germany!

This was one of my most unforgettable experiences. I walked the entire trail, it was a breathtakingly beautiful 8 days (I wish I had had more time) trees and wildlife I've never seen before. Fungus on trees that are 1000s of years old. Slugs larger than the size of my hand span. Birds I'd never heard before.

Finally time to share my experience. Extremely dangerous. You bet your life on a simple slip. Some sections you have to walk by a cliff with no rails, no trees to lean against, on a slippery ground, literaly 1 foot wide. I wouldn't do it even if someone paid me to. People say WCT is dangerous if you're not experience but it's dangerous even for experienced hikers. I'm sure people have died here but they never shared statistics. The ladders are so long and at some sections you simply know, you fall, you die. Hiking is known to be a relatively safe activity unless you do something extremely stupid. That doesn't apply to the WCT. It should be called something else so people are aware of what they're signing up for.

This is an absolutely amazing trail. 75km of remote wilderness and stunning coastline. I can highly recommend it and would hike the trail any time again. Make sure to plan ahead: Permits sell fast and you should plan at least 6 month in advance. Also make sure to bring everything you need to the trailhead, there are not a lot of options to stock up on either side. I'd recommend to hike south to north because it gets easier over time and you are done with the most challenging sections of the trail at the beginning.
