★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There gas station was opened from 9 to 5? I got there at 5:45 and even tho They helped me out with fuel after hours. They were rude and condescending people.. if you can help it. Don't go there. Not worth the visit!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hard core old style fishing resort. You'll need a sea worthy boat to fish in the open water. If you can't handle rollers don't forget to take the gravol. No booze sold on the premises so bring your own. Limited running water / no showers. Outhouses available for your enjoyment.
This is not a snowbird resort. It is for people who like the outdoors.This fishing resort is at the tip of the world renowned West Coast Trail head. Excellent combers and sunbathers beach ½ km down the road. Expect to see a bear, eagle and very possibly a Roosevelt Elk when you open your door in the morning.
Boat size access is limited to the draft as this location is sometimes denied by the low tide. Prepare yourself to watch the tidal access to the fishing grounds. Fishing is renowned to be bountiful with many types of salmon and large halibut.
The road access into the location is all paved from either Victoria or across island from Cowichan Lake. Boat launch and trailer space is not a problem here. There is a small restaurant and also a tackle shop office here.
The town of Port Renfrew has many amenities. Lots to see and do. Bird watching, hiking and a photographers dream world.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Camped here several times over the years. Beautiful place. The campground is fairly spartan, not a lot of amenities but really what do you expect? It's quite a ways out from the city. Come prepared. As far as other comments about hours of operation and such, see the previous sentences. There's no 24 hour 7-11 BS out here. Highly recommend this campground. The people are quite friendly and accomodating if you are as well!
