Absolutely appalling the price that was given to us for a blood transfusion for our dog and how we were talked to. We got a transfusion done in Melfort for 1/3 of the price… You can definitely tell which places are here to help and which ones want to make money. The staff in Melfort were amazing, caring, loving all of the above. We got to be with our dog every step of the way, like how it should be with a loved one. The person on call the night at this Saskatoon emerge clinic of our arrival should be ashamed of themselves guilt tripping my husband and making him feel horrible for some decisions that were made. What is wrong with you. I won’t mention a name because you know who you are. Be better. If one place can make it affordable for these poor animals with auto immune diseases/cancer etc. why aren’t more places doing this?

Can't express how well they did, they helped my scared little friend. Daily communication, calling about any updates and allowing us to visit before the surgery. They made a stressful time a ton easier on myself and my girlfriend!

I brought my sick skinny pig to them. She unfortunately passed away despite everything possible being done. All the receptionists were very sweet and caring, and the vet who cared for her (Dr. Losada). I never felt in the dark about what I was being charged for her care, I got frequent updates and you could tell that Dr. Losada loves her job and her patients. If you are ever in need of a vet for a small animal I highly recommend heading here and requesting Dr.Losada. Losing a pet is very difficult but having incredible knowledgeable staff made mourning my pet that much easier.

I have no disrespect to the staff, they are all wonderful. But for anyone reading that doesn't have deep pockets and ample time, it's best to find a different vet clinic for your animals. To explain: I have a small quaker parrot that occasionally needs beak trims. Going somewhere like Prairieland Vet Clinic to get a beak trim costs me about $25, I get in right when my appointment is, and it takes about 15-20 minutes in and out. Going to U of S costs me more than triple at $89, you may get in on time, but you have to leave your pet with them for an indeterminate amount of time and pick them up later in the day. The $89 paid at the counter was after I was quoted approximately $30 over the phone a few days prior by one of the receptionists, and when I inquired as to why it was so much the counter receptionist didn't seem to have a clear answer. Once again, no disrespect to the staff as they generally do good work and are friendly and professional, but the cost and inconvenience are not worth it if you have other options. Edit: It appears that I was charged for an Office Call/Physical Exam which is not what I had asked for nor what I was quoted over the phone.

My dog died. Now, I'm not saying it's their fault he died, he was very ill, but it is the fact they misplaced his skin biopsy sample once so we had to wait 3 more days for the results, by which time he died, then they didn't even submit the second sample to the lab until 2 days after he had died. We suspect it was distemper, but the fact we are still not sure what exactly took our 4 month old puppy away from us, is infuriating. If the results contain something that could have resulted in us saving him, I'm sure anyone could guess our response. They waved the $800 fee to put in a feeding tube, because he either had to stay 3 days over the weekend or be put on a tube due to them losing his sample and sending home home. This wasn't a charity by any means, all they wanted to do was waive the cost of the second skin biopsy, like it was even a question of whether we would pay again. Told them it was unacceptable that we would be expected to pay for the extended stay because the samples were lost and they agreed. The doctors and staff in general were fantastic, doctor Moreno was extremely professional and knowledgeable but their lab needs some serious work and organization. They should be ashamed of their sloppy work and frankly pathetic performance, students or not. It's been nearly 2 weeks since his first biopsy and still no results.

Took my kitty in for a UTI. They gently poked and prodded her, weighed her, gave her water, waited for her to pee, and eventually got a sample which confirmed what I already knew. I get to enjoy stuffing a pill and liquids into her every twelve hours for a week. She hates me already but I detect less resistance to the painkiller already - little furry addict. The student and the vet were great and explained everything in minute detail which I appreciated. I don't like how they've decorated the place but it's functional. As you can see, Willow has ptsd now. Seeking referrals to a kitty therapist. Willow’s kitten photos shamelessly added for the squeal factor.

We had to rush our dog here from Regina and they were really helpful. He was supposed to have a special surgery and they did some tests and monitored him over night. They ended up not doing the surgery and we got a refund. The staff and doctors were very pleasant. We are very thankful to have our dog still with us.

We had to take our puppy here many times over the past few weeks. They were always very kind. Dr. P. was amazing and very detailed in explaining everything. He was also considerate of the costs and didn't push anything on us that he felt was unnecessary. We unfortunately had to put our puppy down a few days ago. The staff was very compassionate and caring. They also made us a clay paw print at no charge. I will be forever grateful for the great care they gave to our puppy Ryder.
