Not a good place to think longterm with. They have great incentives to start but rent will go up heavily if you look to renew. They send out warnings without ever hearing you out and management seems to be very hard to get ahold of. Dirty halls that smell and a partial working underground door thats been on the fritz during my full term that you pay monthy for. Judging by past reviews im assuming a damage deposit isnt within reach with this company ( which is a full month of rent). Cheaply made units (from a builders standpoint) Very money hungry and not interested in loyalty of those whove been there long. Highly DO NOT recommend!

We rented from Killam Reit for 1 year, and we were with Braden Equities for 1 year prior. We signed a lease which was to include several move-in "incentives", including an internet and TV package. Killam refused to honor these incentives, and we lost quite a bit of money as a result. In addition, getting in touch with one of the building managers was a nightmare. We had to go through the Killam head-offices, rather than the offices on-site (at Waybury Park) because they were almost always empty, and e-mails were not returned. As for the apartments, the quality was OK, but definitely not worth the steep price. It's also extremely hot in the apartments, even in the winter -- and we couldn't open our windows because Wye Rd is adjacent, and quite loud). Things on the property were not fixed in a timely manner. For example, the mirror which allowed individuals to see around a corner when driving into the underground parking garage broke. It sat broken for months (and it may still be broken, I moved so I'm not sure). Overall, renting from Killam was a very unpleasant experience. I would highly recommend that you rent from a decent individual, rather than a corporation. Killam does not care about their tenants, they care about profit.

I moved to Waybury Park in 2016. As with any new construction, there were issues in the beginning which was handled immediately. I love living here, shops are close by, easy access to main roads, walking trails. The resident manager, Karen, is superior! Always available, deals with any issues immediately, kind and thoughtful, and ever friendly I look forward to many more years here. N

We’re looking forward to spending a year here! Staff, especially Megan, worked diligently to process our paperwork, answer our questions, and help us chose the best floor plan for our β€˜home away from home’. She was warm, welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable (very). Everyone we met along the way was friendly. Apartment is lovely, finished in soft colours, and clean, as are hallways and grounds. Thank you too to Karen for staying late and giving us a thorough orientation. Home Sweet Home ?

Do Not Move Here. The property management company running this place is horrible. They don't take care of the property nor the concerns of the tenant. They don't clean place is so dirty. If you choose to park underground expect inches of dust and dirt on your vehicle. They off "secure parking" underground but vehicles have been broken into numerous times and they say they are not responsible. The garage door never works. But tenants are NOT allowed to park outside. The Community areas are now gone. Everyone who was here and signed on with the original property management company has left. Killam Apartment REIT is a terrible company! Do not rent from this company! Do not invest any of your income into renting from this company. They clearly do not respect the people that lease from them. Very sad. Waybury Park was so good to live in until this company took over. A company who thinks community living means spending over $1600 a month for ensuring the property is filthy and uncared for and wont take responsibility over anything that goes wrong. I am writing this review in hopes that others will learn from our mistakes of living here. Most of us did not choose Killam Apartment REIT but we have all left because of them. I hope the company who owns the buildings sees this and fires Killam Apartment REIT. Terrible property management group. I hope the owners fire you.

If you own an electric vehicle, don't bother with this place. I own a Tesla model S and tried using the "Electrical vehicle charging only" spot in the underground parcade but was informed that this was an assigned spot to someone. Which okay?? Thought it was supposed to be a community charger...Turns out the vehicle that was assigned wasn't even electric...was gasoline ?. Makes sense.

Sadly I have been ignored by both the Property Manager & Resident Manager at Waybury Park in regards to my damage deposit being returned. In accordance to the Alberta Residential Tenancies Law Act, they must deliver a status update within 10 days. Instead I have been given the run around from corporate, 3 different telephone numbers, sent endless emails and voicemails with zero communication back despite moving out 2 months ago. I hate to give a bad review, but the service at this condo board is truly despicable and an embarrassment to KILLAM REIT. I would highly suggest this company ensures proper communication with tenants to avoid law suits & court fees.

May 15/2022 So here's the scoop: I moved in a few months ago on short notice. Karen, the manager, and the senior staff out east bent over backwards to accommodate us. They got a suite ready in record time and were extremely helpful in any way they could be. The costs are very reasonable. The building: It is not a high end place, but it is not a dive either. The manager, Karen, takes pride in her work and addresses issues that come up without delay. Significant efforts are made to ensure safety, health and well-being of the tenants is not jeopardized. Cleaning issues are addressed quickly when discovered. It is a nonsmoking building and the rules are definitely enforced. If you smoke, then common sense and respect for others should prevent any issues. Security: Key fobs at entryways, a main door intercom and video cameras throughout the property, including the underground parking are a definite asset. The tenants: Although I have not met many, I have observed most to be friendly, sociable, polite and respectful of others and thier property. A mix of ages, races and backgrounds are evident. The neighborhood is pleasant with parks, water features, walking trails and amenities a short walk away. There is definitely a "safe" feeling here. All said and done, this property is clean, comfortable, quiet and safe in my opinion. Much of this is owed to the efforts of the manager.
