★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to this shop in the evening of September 19th, 2019 with my brother as we were both shopping for a few items. Keep in mind that this is a used book, DVD and music shop, so the items are generally at a marked-down rate.
As I was shopping with a pile of items in my hand, I was having an important telephone conversation, and as I was about to pay, a short, older, bald man came up to me behind the cash and said very rudely and in an aggressive manner “I can hear you all the way in the back!” Now, this “man” is obviously an employee there, and telling by his age, probably for quite some time.
I was ready to spend a considerable amount in the shop, as I hung up the phone, he once again proceeded to tell, not ask, me to leave the shop. My brother and I both subsequently dropped our items in anger and disgust at how we were being treated. As we left the shop, he promptly told me in French “Aweille à la maison!” (Which in English means, essentially, “Get out of here now!”) I mentioned to him that one should not speak to a paying customer in this way, I myself having worked seven years in customer service. He proceeded to tell me that he did not care.
DO NOT frequent or visit this shop, they are rude and do not know how to treat paying, or potentially paying, customers with dignity and respect.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice, ecclectic used book store with a great selection of CDs, some DVDs, and video games. The books are mostly in French but there are some English ones too. I'll always find a hidden gem in there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This evening I went into the store with my young son and the man who works in the back came up to the front and motioned with my his hands for me to keep it down. I was on the phone and in my opinion I was not speaking loudly after I told him he was rude and he yelled at me and said to get out of the store. My son and i were very shocked and upset. What a disgusting way to treat a regular customer who bought many of their dvds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to find low budget B-movies in the city. Gotta look through bins to find nuggets of gold but worth the time if you like that. The staff seems to work hard at keeping everything organized.
Also good place to find budget friendly graphic novels and used books. They also seem to have standards and even for previously owned media is still in good condition for the most part.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As my children say Le Cool is not French. But I have been visiting here for 20 years consolidating my love for their mother and her city. Well its mine now. And this store is Le cool. What did it finally is the owner (he seemed too cool not to be) on selecting a great sale CD, saying he saw the Voice of God, the great Sufi in his one set in Montreal. Really Cool!
