This place is a must! The instructors are top notch and incredibly engaging with the children. A perfect atmosphere, abundantly peaceful and positive. We are so thankful to have found them. The pricing is exceptionally reasonable. We even live in Vancouver, and have no problem with the drive out to Richmond for classes -- it's definitely worth it, considering the calibre of everything that they offer!

My child has been attending the kids' program for about 4 years now.. It may not look like much from the outside,, but on the inside the Vancouver Ki Society approaches kids from the heart. The instructors are black belts who volunteer their time and energy several times a week because they love kids, they feel that the message of extending Ki through the practice of Aikido is so important, and they want to keep it accessible to all families. The senseis are so gentle, and caring, and fun! They are always thinking of how to make it better for the kids. Pre-Covid there was an in-house lending library, sleep-overs, camps, trips to other dojos, pot-lucks, visits from Aikido masters and so much more. As children advance in their belts, they are asked to assist the sensei in other classes, giving them an empowering opportunity to lead. Although Covid has complicated things temporarily, this is a whole community of families. It is just across the Oak St. Bridge so access from Vancouver is super easy. This dojo is filled with Ki. ❀️
