Found milo bit harsh and mean.
The class would do warm up drills. I noticed one time he was smirking and smiling while talking to a student while watching me since I wasn’t doing the shrimping(warm up drill ) incorrect
It’s all about the money. If your a Groupon student don’t expect to get treated with same respect as compared to regular paying student
decided to signup with another gym right next to apex in Richmond . They got pro fighters too and a cage

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I started training kickboxing here in late 2008 for about 8 to 9 months on recommendation of a coworker. They had recently opened up in their original location. Due to a move to the Tricitis I stopped training there. Their kickboxing program is a great way to learn the sport and get in shape.
Fast forward to today. I have my son enrolled in their Junior Eagles program. Milo and Marcy run the best kids program in BC, hands down. We came from a reputable gym out here in poco but it is night and day in terms of the program and teaching styles. My son has learned more in 2.5 months than he did in 9 months at the other gym. These guys are creating champions in the martial art of BJJ and also in life. Check it out for yourself.
Highly recommended for all programs offered!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are looking for a gym to train Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, look no further, Apex is hands down one of the best gyms in Richmond. The gym owners, Marcy and Milo, provide a fun and friendly family environment for all new comers to come learn while getting a good work out. I highly recommend Apex !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was pretty nervous about going to Jiu-Jitsu for the first time (as someone who has never done any form of martial arts / fighting before). When I arrived the studio was very easy to find. The owner greeted me right away and helped get me set up. The studio was extremely clean and looked brand new. My entry level BJJ class was really cool! The instructors were very helpful and even though there were lots of students, they circulated around giving tips and making sure I wasn't doing any funky stuff. I'm really looking forward to going back and taking the kickboxing class!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Kickboxing & BJJ gym. Started here years ago with the kickboxing but now just do Jiu-Jitsu. Instruction is excellent.. very welcoming, friendly and fun atmosphere. Clean gym. Family friendly environment..their kids program is amazing. It's not just a place to train, it's my martial arts family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic place to learn BJJ and kickboxing. Top notch instruction in both disciplines. Prior to joining Apex I hadn't trained consistently in Brazilian Jiujitsu in over 3 years and thought I never would again. I was recommended by a friend to try out a free class and I ended up joining that same day. Needless to say I was hooked. I have been to several gyms around the Vancouver area and found that Apex was the ideal gym for me. A perfect combination of amazing instructors, training partners, and a clean facility/equipment, I can't think of a better place to train. Cannot say enough good things about the instructors Milo, Marcy, and Max. They really care about their students and have built a team atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Everyone genuinely cares about each other and look to share ideas and techniques to get better. Whether you are looking to join for fitness or are looking to be a serious competitor Apex will provide you with the right environment to attain your goals. Definitely check them out!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This martial arts studio is open and welcoming to all people from every walk of life and skill. Whether you've never stepped inside or onto a mat all the way to competing at the top level, I cannot put into words how welcoming the owners and students are here.
The kids program is the best run BJJ class anywhere in the lower mainland and quite possibly across Canada. Students are drilled with the basics until they are become second nature and executed without any flaw. The program is instructed in a manner to allow the every child to understand the philosophy of various techniques in a manner that relates to their language and comprehension. The kids competition team competes locally, across Canada, in the United States including the most prestigious event in the world... The Kids PANS in Southern California annually. I LOVE THIS PLACE!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apex Martial Arts has been my home for the past 6 years or so. It is not just the gym where I train, but my second home. It is a clean, family friendly environment and offers the best BJJ and kickboxing in the area. Both the kids and adult programs are extremely technical, yet taught in a very easy to digest manner.
