Would not hire, period. They've been working on our landlords' upper deck since the last week of January. We were told it would take 5 weeks, it's now going on 18 weeks... they seem to come and go at random, sometimes once a week for a few minutes, other weeks no sign of them but the materials are still in the yard so we know they aren't done. Seems to always be different people working on the deck, too. One worker stood right outside our living room window and stared at us — he did this several mornings in a row that both myself and my boyfriend observed. Other times they blasted music next to our window from morning to end of shift. I kept letting it go because maybe there were good reasons for the delays, and listening to music makes the day less tedious so it's only fair they get to do that. Not their problem that I work from home. But today I've finally had it because they randomly showed up after noon and have been hammering away/running power tools, and I had to cancel a client call as a result (I had no idea they'd be here when I scheduled the meeting, haven't seen them in awhile as usual). The whole experience has felt extremely unprofessional.

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Etheridge Home Renovation on our residential and office renovations. By using Etheridge’s project management software, we were able to monitor the project’s budget. Change orders and selections could easily be approved, making the decision-making process efficient. The entire Etheridge Home Renovation team cares about each project, and they always made sure were happy clients. They followed strata rules, kept the job site tidy, met project timelines, and more. We would highly recommend Etheridge Home Renovation, and look forward to working with them again soon!

I highly recommend Etheridge Reno. Paul and his team are incredibly experienced, resourceful and reliable. My home renovation was very complicated as we added a whole new floor to our house. The result was outstanding and it ended up being featured in House and Home magazine! We also used Etheridge reno to renovate our new location for Parliament Interiors in Mount Pleasant and we are thrilled with the result. They came in on time and under budget!

We hired Etheridge to renovate our back yard and instal a patio with landscaping. Paul was fantastic to work with. He provided a vision of what it could look like and a fair quote. The project started and ended earlier than expected, with excellent communication throughout, responsiveness to our requests, and follow-up after the project was finished. We now have a beautiful outdoor space where we regularly dine, entertain and relax. I cannot recommend them highly enough and I wish we had hired them to do this years ago. In fact, we are looking to hire them for another project.

We had a terrible experience with Etheridge from Day 1. - [ ] Timeline: The project, as written in the contract, was supposed to be completed within 2 months. We were at 6 months when we decided to fire them. - [ ] Budget: The project was 40% over budget. We made only one change to increase budget. The rest of it is unexplainable and no discussions were had with us, as promised in the contract. When asked the owner said it was a complex project- it wasn’t, it was a retaining wall. - [ ] Quality: we’re still dealing with having to fix the work that was done. Both the framing and concrete work were outrageously bad. They had cut, stacked and left the frames outside for weeks in multiple atmospheric rivers so they used ruined boards to frame. You could see the wood grain and knots. There was multiple escapes even left a piece of the frame in one area of the wall. Concrete wasn’t vibrated fully so there was major bubbles. The walls finished up wavy (not smooth) and stained. We still don’t know what the stains are from. - [ ] Sloppy Work: we had fences built and they left the wood sitting in soil to get dirty. They got concrete all over our house with the pour. The soil they used wouldn’t drain and they busted the mounts for an electrical fixture. We had 5 failed inspections. - [ ] Professionalism: they are expensive and tell you “you’ll be seeing a lot of us“ but we had to chase the Project Manager to actually visit and see what was going on. They weren’t even here on Day 1 and I was getting bombarded with questions from the excavations crew. The owner came to visit a couple of times after us asking and he was rude and arrogant. He took no accountability. He told us “nothing will ever make us happy” and also they didn’t focus on us because “they never clicked with us a clients”. I guess they only do quality work if they like you!? We’ve taken over completing the project on our own and it’s gone way smoother. It’s ridiculous that we’ve had to do that. And it’s costing us money to fix the work. Do not use them!
