There is no substitute for the opportunity to see/feel/try/demo outdoor clothing and gear before buying, and that is not possible online. More important still is the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and experience of a team of people who know the products well. Mike and the whole team at Valhalla Nanaimo are a great example. Their product selection, customer service, and involvement in the community make them a valuable asset to the area.

I have been a long time customer, never again. I guess cabelas and atmosphere will get pretty busy. They usually are cheaper anyways. I just like to support small locally owned stores... When I asked them if I should take my business elsewhere, they replied with a sharp "Yes, take your business elsewhere!" No acomidation for a personal health situation. Good Job Valhalla owner, great staff you have.

He went out of his way to find ways to adjust the straps and the torso length so that my backpack fit me comfortably. I tried out several backpacks to compare those with my new backpack and with some extra tweaking, he was able to make my backpack fit well. Even though I have used a backpack for years, Kye also showed me some great techniques for tightening and loosening the buckles and straps. Thanks so much, Kye for all your help!!
