Urban Thrift owner, Domenic Stante is acutely aware of the environmental impact unused items have on our environment and society. In fact, his passion led him to purchase Urban Thrift which started as a trendy Thrift Store in NE Calgary back in 2007.

“I have always been aware of the importance of buying second hand, so the opportunity to be a part of Urban Thrift seemed like a great opportunity to further causes that are important to me. ” Urban Thrift soon developed a loyal following. It’s a boutique-like atmosphere makes it one of the most popular second hand clothing shops in Calgary.

Urban Thrift carries on that tradition at our new consignment store at 906 Center Street NE. “I wanted to replicate the relaxed boutique atmosphere and interesting decor that we’ve always been known for. It’s always been our staff that sets us apart. Our stylists offer friendly advice and their attention to detail is what separates us from other stores. “

I'm going to try my luck at bringing in some items for consignment. They also carry new items that are local example soaps, bath bombs and socks. I recommend taking a shop about in this store!

It had a variety of wares and unique clothes at an excellent price better than any of the thrift stores in that area. The ladies that worked there were great. This new consignment layout is unjustifiably costly, not nearly the variety that it used to have and all around more pretentious. Was very disappointing

It is small so it is quite lacking in size and selection. They didn't have what I was looking for but I plan on returning now that I know the types of things they have in store.

They have a really great selection of quality clothes and the prices are great (high and low, depends on the clothing items so there's a choice for anyone's budget). Great selection for all genders too. The staff and owner were around and we had the pleasure of great customer service. My partner and I will definitely be back!

The owner is super friendly and very polite, he knows how to operate a business and has passion for what he does. The clothing is pretty much all high end and it's all very well cared for. The only thing I don't like is the size of the change rooms, they are miniscule at best.

Will definitely be coming back, and recommend this place if you’re looking for some unique pieces. They also have a large selection of men’s clothing, which can be hard to find at other consignment stores in the city.

Being on the more petite end, they always have a great amount of selection of sizes, including extra small. I love that the store is sorted by size. Makes browsing so much easier. I have always received kind service upon walking in and throughout the shopping. Staff are helpful and not pushy. High quality brands are carried and items are almost like new. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the higher end brands. Their pricing system is unique and even though at full price the items are a decent value, it feels nice to stumble upon an item whose price is significantly reduced due to time on the shelf. Good mix of attire types also, from casual to business to fitness. This cute shop is such a great addition to the neighbourhood! Definitely one of my favorite thrift shops of all time.
