Don't feel this company even deserves one star but had to give a rating.... where do I even begin? First, we used this company to remove drywall from our bathroom before we could begin renovations as it was determined we had asbestos in the walls. This company is one of the few companies in the lower mainland that does asbestos abatement apparently. Our contractor got a quote from them for $4500 (for a less-than 200 sq.ft bathroom). Apparently this same company charged much less (in the $3000 range) just last year to remove asbestos from a home's rec room (according to our contractor) which was many, many times the size of our little bathroom. So there appears to be no regulation or accountability as to why they charge what they charge. It's a case of having a corner on a market and taking full advantage of the homeowner. When we asked for a breakdown of the bill we were refused this courtesy. I wonder how much they are paying their 20-something employees - $300 hour? $400 hour? But to make matters EVEN WORSE they 1) broke a light fixture in our ensuite during the hammering process (our ensuite wall is on the other side of our tub, where tile was removed) and 2) put a hole in our kitchen wall during the removal process. So the whole point of the exercise is to "protect your family from asbestos which can be cancer-causing" yet they leave a gaping hole WITH DUST in our kitchen....and denied it was them who caused the damage! So we paid over $4,000 to be EXPOSED TO ASBESTOS ANYWAY. If I could afford a lawyer and take this further I would. Stay away, in fact....don't use this or any asbestos abatement company because they are just a rip off outfit. Better to find a contractor who will just put a mask on and go in and get the work done. Never, ever again.
