Ray did a great job troubleshooting my enterphone problem - he was courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable. He respected my time and my home, took off his shoes, and solved the problem carefully and methodically.

NexGen does not provide an after-hours emergency service. However, upon calling the technician Digby directly and advising him of the situation, he was able to accommodate my Strata into his daily visits. Would be five stars if an emergency service was available or they had provided a recommendation for emergency service when asked. Overall good.

We've had issues for 2 years with our Intercom and they can't seem to fix it. Yesterday we also had someone stuck in an elevator who experienced a severe panic attack. Nexgen hung up the phone on the wife, gave false promises on when and how it was being handled. They left a guy in there for over an hour. We had to call the firemen. The nexgen people on the phone were unprofessional, incompetent, unethical and would not release details of names of the people who were making the calls.

Update November 2021: While the company took some reasonable measures to counter my clear, honest, and proven review contents from over a year ago (writing and/or encouraging purely positive reviews to raise their star rating), Ray Lewis of Nex Gen also recently elected to reach out to the RCMP, nearly 14 months after our last interaction, and tell them my review here amounted to harassment. It's an example of the type of behaviour that prompted my review over a year ago. Thankfully, the RCMP saw the act of reporting to them as the retaliatory and unnecessary move it appears to be. Had Ray Lewis kept his vendetta personal, it would have little to nothing to do with Nex Gen. However, he chose to use a truck emblazoned with NexGen logos to both transport himself and other transgressors but also as a tool of intimidation. Every company I've known would frown upon their property and image being used that way. When I choose a business or individual to work with, I want to patronize and rate highly those who take a much different, more reasonable and less dramatic approach to a negative review. There was a personal dispute between separated spouses. NexGen's Ray Lewis chose to show up in a NexGen truck to, as the officers who had to be called to address Mr. Lewis's behaviour put it, disturb the peace. He used the truck, his words, and his actions to try to intimidate and actually threaten a woman and her 13yo son, including stalking them, taking what he believed was covert video of an adolescent boy, and laugh at the terrified child's tears. I don't expect anything will be done, but people should know what those they're letting into their homes and businesses are capable of. I want to know. It's also telling of the company that supports this behavior, especially with their fleet and equipment on full display. Not the most professional image, but certainly a memorable one for law enforcement and witnesses.
