Unicity is proud to be the exclusive taxi service provider of the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport. In partnership with Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc, Unicity has adopted customer service standards that include driver tourism training under the National Occupational Standards, decreased age of vehicles servicing the airport, a 24-hour 7 days a week presence to ensure availability at all times and dedicated airport taxis at high travel times such as winter charter season and vacation travel.

Winnipeg Airports Authority is a non-share capital corporation responsible for the management and operation of Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport and affiliate businesses. Net income is reinvested by WAA back into the community, primarily through airport development projects. WAA is self sufficient with taxpayers not directly involved in financing airport site redevelopment which is being paid through Airport Improvement Fees (AIF).

Taxis at the airport are located near the central terminal doors.

Coolest thing happened on the way to the airport this morning…while my husband was paying the taxi driver, he dropped some cash on the seat. Well that’s gone we thought, then while we were checking in at the airport, our taxi driver tapped me on the shoulder and brought the cash back to us! I wish I had got his name, but thank you Unicity Taxi driver, your honesty helps restore my faith in our community!

I have relied upon them for years to get to work, and have been a generous tipper. Finally, they showed up at a VERY common destination and their driver called me from a private number. I mistook it for a scam call and answered and swore at the listener and they basically ignored me for the rest of the night, even though there's no reason that their driver would call me from his personal phone, and they were very petty about it. They can say goodbye to my thousands of dollars a year in income. Hello, Uber!

The cab number β€œ205” is terrible, he’s very rude and should be fired. I paid my fare and he kicked me out midway through my ride in the freezing weather. Taking Duffys for now on, these guys are not a great service for Winnipeg.

Taxi 314 did not follow instructions. Called once briefly with not enough time to answer. Cancelled booking. Booked another taxi and he accepted and finally found the location. Started complaining as soon as I got in the car. Not even wearing a mask until after I got in and after he complained (masks were still mandatory at the time).

There was a Unicity Cab parking at the intersection of Henderson and Munroe waiting for his passengers. I honked and flashed him to move and waited more than 5 minutes before his passengers came and he moved finally. There were also many instances when they are double parking forcing drivers to go to the opposing direction just to overtake them when they could have just waited on the parallel parking on the other side of the road.

I think at this point, all of Winnipeg knows this taxi service is complete trash. The drivers have zero social skills, will drive recklessly where you question if you're even going to survive the ride, and instead of going from Point A to point B in a nice straight line, they take the scenic route into busy traffic because they want more money out of you that they don't deserve. Plus, most of the time you don't get to choose if you want to tip them, the driver already decided for you before letting you tap your card, and come on now, you KNOW they didn't deserve that tip. Absolutely pathetic company and drivers.

I have noticed a trend with the people complaining here. They complain to complain. I phone well in advance, am told when I need to be Picked Up for an Appointment, and arrive early. I have called ahead, and because I live in an Apartment Building, they meet me at The Front Door. They do not come in the building, as I have advised them NOT to. From what I have found, they DO require a certain amount for pick up, and then for the actual fare. I have had no problems. You pay Bus Fare, don't you? When I call ahead, and ask when I need to be at a certain destination, the operator is able to give me an appropriate Pick Up time.

The few times that I received "good" service does not make up for the many times I received terrible service. I have been late to or missed events because they never showed up and I had to scramble to get transport to where I needed to go. They never answer when I call to either find out where my cab is or to complain. Drivers take the longer route and sometimes take the meter off. I would not recommend them. I'm surprised that they even have 2 stars here.
