About Tuxedo Villa Extendicare
The Knitting Club in our home consists of 20 residents who meet regularly to knit scarves, toques, mittens, socks, blankets and more that they then donate to various programs for the needy through local charity groups, schools and the Humane society. To date, they have donated 100’s of pieces and show no signs of slowing down. They have even been profiled in our local newspapers. What makes it even more remarkable is that the leader of the group got her start during the Second World War when she tirelessly knit socks and other items for soldiers fighting overseas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This facility has amazing staff, they are so kind, helpful and caring. The problem is that I do not like the management at all. They are always short on staff and after several people complaining they have yet to change a thing. The staff try to run around and help everyone trying to not show that they are short on staff by not complaining. But I would like the management to know that these are human beings and that they cannot be everywhere at once. If this problem is not fixed soon I am not sure if I would recommend this place to anyone or continue to have my loved ones in your care. Please actually fix this problem rather than continuing to hope that things would just magically work out. I know that you make money by not having as many staff as needed but that is an INTOLERABLE EXCUSE to this problem !!!

But more the instructions/information provided after he passed away on which doctor had to fill in his proof of death form for insurance purposes. 3 weeks later they got to the correct doctor. It was added stress and confusion we didn't need.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Like many people who send their relatives to care homes I didn't feel I had much of a choice. Especially after two months in the hospital in the middle of a pandemic. But I am so pleased with this place I'm tearing up. And it's the staff !!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My mom was there for only a short time before she passed away. I was there everyday and witnessed first hand the excellent care that she was given by all of the staff. The meals were freshly made as there is an onsite kitchen. As in any health care situation family support is critical. My only complaint is the lack of on onsite doctor leaves the staff having to chase a doctor for medical prescriptions. This may cause the resident unnecessary pain while they wait.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mom was there for a year and we were very impressed by the level of care and compassion she received by all of the staff, especially on unit 2. Due to driving distance it had not been our first choice for Mom but it certainly turned out to be the best choice. The building is clean and well maintained, everything is on one level, parking is easy, the gardens are lovely, the food is fresh, the activities staff is wonderful, and there is an on-site hairdresser there twice a week. Mom said that they spoiled her and that's the best compliment of all!
